Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? Felt like years since the last time they saw each other. Michael couldn't seem to be convinced to stay in one place for too long, too paranoid, too nomadic. It gnawed at and wore down Alcide's heart, most times, but there were some he could endure it better. Except when the absences last for months. This time. Fuck. This time it was half a goddamn year.

Whatever pack shit he had going on for the rest of the week, it was being headed by his second. All responsibility fled him when that motherfucker showed up in his driveway.

Half a year. Alcide wanted to sock him, he was definitely angry enough to do it. Instead, they embraced for a long time. Alcide squeezed and held him tight, make sure he couldn't disappear again. Pressed his face into Michael's hair, refamiliarize himself with that scent. And they might've started right there in the driveway with the sun setting on them had it not been for his better half reasoning with him to go inside.

To say they had a lot of sex was an understatement. Alcide would have to burn his mattress and the dozen sets of sheets they'd gone through at this point. There was no stopping him, no balm good enough to ease the lovesickness he's had for six whole fucking months.

Even now he delayed Michael from entering the shower, stopping him and kissing him passionately from behind. "Don't you ever do that again," he growled for the umpteenth time that week. "Next time, I'll track you down myself. Now, go on and get in there."

It had been a good fight, a long fight. After everything was over, Steve had asked for a small reprieve. He wanted, no needed a place of his own. Something small, intimate. A bit of nostalgia for himself. A small apartment in Brooklyn, high enough that he ca look over the city. It was much nicer than the Brooklyn he remembered from his youth.

It was still Brooklyn.

One thing he'd been very insistent about was the bathroom. He had wanted a large suite, with a bathing tub big enough for two. The rest of the apartment could be small, as long as he had a large bathtub.

Steve smiled as he turned off the water. "It's ready," he called out. He stood up and began to strip off his clothes. The water was full of bubbles and smelled really nice. It would be perfect for sore soldiers with really tired muscles. He smiled as he lowered himself into the water.
