This meme deals with three types of love: angsty, sweet and twisted! Please note that there are triggers abound!

I. BAD ROMANCE

01. IT'S TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE. You had a fight and now your lover isn't sure they want to even hear your apologies.
02. HURT/COMFORT. You or your lover is in pain, physically or mentally, and needs to be comforted.
03. SECOND BEST. No matter what your lover says, you feel like they're only settling for you like a second choice.
04. CHEATED. You've seen all the signs; lipstick on the collar, scratches down the back, hickeys you didn't leave behind. Do you want to keep ignoring it or finally confront them?
05. KEEP ME FROM FALLING. Your lover is being discouraged from seeking any sort of relationship with you and it's definitely a strain.
06. BUT HOW DO I KNOW... You love your partner so much, but you're uncertain just how they feel about you.
07. JUST NOT FEELING THE SPARK... That spark in he bedroom seems to be gone, so how are you going to deal?
08. I WANT YOUR LOVE, I DON' WANT TO BE FRIENDS. You're obsessed with the object of your affection and you will stop at nothing to win them over.

15. CAN'T SAVE YOU. Your lover is going to sacrifice themselves and you can't save them. You can spend your last night with them though.
16. FALLING APART. Your life with your lover is falling apart due to outside circumstances and all you can do is try to hold on together.
17. SECRET LOVER. You and your lover have to keep your relationship a secret, but unfortunately, you've been found out by someone who disapproves. How will you deal?
18. GOING TO MAKE YOU HURT. You know you're no good for your lover and in the end, you're going to make them hurt.
19. KEEP YOU SAFE. Your lover has been hurt in an intimate way by someone else and all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.

III. HOW CAN I EXIST WITHOUT YOU?

01. YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME TO HAVE TO HURT YOU TOO... The object of your love/lust is resisting your advances, so it's time to take what you want.
02. JEALOUSY. It's jealousy to the extreme. You're going to make damn sure your lover knows how you feel about them seeing other people.
03. INCEST IS BEST. You know it's wrong, all kinds of sinful, but you can't resist the draw. If characters aren't related, then they are now! Or at least it feels very close to incest anyway.
04. YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GET FAR. You love that person so much, you've made sure they can't get away - by physically tying them down or by some other emotional or mental means.
05. I'LL MAKE YOU HURT. You've set it up to make sure your lover catches you cheating or doing something else hurtful just for that reason. You want to make them suffer.
06. CHAINS AND WHIPS EXCITE ME. You're both taking sex to extremes.
07. BROKEN. Your lover has utterly broken you and you need them to know.
08. SECRECY. You're embarrassed by your lover, utterly embarrassed. If they weren't useful in some way (even if it's just in bed!), you wouldn't even be with them.
09. YOU'RE MY LAST CHOICE. You don't really love the person you're with, but they're all you could snatch up and it's no secret to either of you.
10. FORCED TOGETHER. You don' love each other, but you have no choice but to be together due to outside influences. Alternatively, you've been captured and are now being forced to make a sex video even if you don't want to.
11. WATCH HOW I DO IT. You were just forced to watch your lover have sex with someone else (willingly or not) or beaten and now you've got to deal with the aftermath.
12. IF YOU ONLY KNEW. You're not who your lover thinks or you've got a lot of deep dark secrets that, if they only knew, they'd hate you forever.
13. NOT WHO I WAS. Maybe your lover was replaced with a pod person or they're under brainwash or something, but you know they're not who they were.
14. LOVE POTION XXX. You couldn't resist it anymore. You needed your lover, so you've drugged them into loving and wanting you too.
15. THREATS. This person isn't with you willingly. They're only putting up with you because you've threatened them into doing so.
16. FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT.
17. NOT GOING TO SAVE YOU. Your lover is on the brink and you're just going to watch them fall. You don't care anymore.
18. HATE YOU. You need your lover to know how exactly much you hate them. You can't even touch them without your skin crawling.
19. BETRAYAL. You've betrayed your lover in some huge way and you don't care that they've found out.

To say that Cody was a hard man to love was an understatement. He fought, he drank, and he tended to sleep half the day away. Sometimes in a cell. That was the original place he'd met her, and the place they most often had their awkward little talks. His main saving grace was his ability to never mention their relationship.

"Hey, Lin. Is it bail time, already?" he said, yawning as he woke up, "My back's killing me. Guy hit me with a chair."

[Being bored is never something anyone wants Lydia to be, but it seems that her attention span is completely shot tonight. Lying in bed, she reaches across to the bedside table and grabs her phone. Front facing cameras are the best invention ever. She spends a good four minutes arranging her hair on the pillow before she realizes she needs more lip gloss.

A new coat applied, she's back to arranging her hair and sliding the strap down off of her shoulder. It's not scandalous, but it's more shoulder and a bit more of her curves exposed. She even presses her arm in against her side a bit to push the curve up a bit more. It's gravity that is working against her as she lays down, this is just physics doing their part to help out.

She purses her lips slightly, then snaps the photo. Sighing when that's done, she sends it via a text message to who she thinks is Jackson. The odd thing is that the iPhone does this thing where if you have an unread text message it pops it open for you. She didn't read that text message from Stiles, so Stiles is going to get a very different reply to his question about chemistry homework.

She hits send and then drops the phone to rest on her stomach.]

[Something about this project strikes Vexen as undignified at best, and outright ridiculous at worst. Just because the department needs more test subjects with less budget, does it really expect synthetic pheremonal modification research to be a promising avenue? It's positively absurd--the evidence suggesting that this will even work is sketchy at best. And why on Gaia do he and Dr. Crescent need to be the ones assigned to the project? They have far more important matters to attend to! The only reason he hasn't thrown his hands up in disgust and walked away from the whole affair is precisely the fact that the situation is so dismally bleak as to be a worthy challenge for his intellect.

He's more optimistic about this batch than he has been about the other ones, at least. The biological demands of designing pheremones that would theoretically affect all the species the department used are bad enough, but the process..... That, too, has been a hurdle. Impurities, purification methods changing the chemical composition, concerns over dilution, trying to solve matters of improper half-life, ensuring a delivery method the creatures themselves wouldn't be able to compromise..... When it comes to problems, this particular project hasn't been lacking, but that's only made him more aggressively determined still to see it through to the very end--and not accept defeat unless he can produce hard data that proves it impossible.]

He takes a quick shower at SHIELD headquarters, but it doesn't make him feel clean. Change of clothes, moving by rote, and he checks out. He takes the long way back to Natasha's place, trains, buses, because he wants to get lost in the city. Ends up at the old brick building, built before the turn of the century -- the turn of last century, that is -- and rarely remodeled.

He's been fingering the key in his pocket the entire way, as though afraid it's about to disappear. But it's still here, and he's here, and he steps up onto the porch in a haphazard swirl of dead leaves like a ghost trapped in the wind. He lets himself in, bypasses the guest bathroom, cuts through Natasha's room and into hers. There, he showers. He washes his skin again and again, and then he finds himself scrubbing too hard. On his arm, where he still feels the ghost of Loki's fingers. Over his breastbone, where the weight of the scepter rested. He draws blood, oozing slow in long scrapes. He feels raw, and still Loki is everywhere in him.

He slams his fist into the ceramic soap tray, shatters it, and flicks the water off, stepping out of the shower. This is better. The blood drips from slices along his fingers, dissipates in clear watery pink where it falls with the rest of the water on the floor.

He's shaking, and finally he starts to cry, in ugly and awkward sobs. Choking on them like there's some creature trying to hold them back buried in his chest. He curls against the wall, his hand resting on his knee, and the blood traces the water-flow down his leg, leaves lines of red.

He wants to feel safe. He wants to feel like him again. And he doesn't know how to do it.
