Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness;

The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love.

This post can provide that, too.

Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. All are welcome, they just have to take that first step.

Phobos muttered angrily to himself as he walked down the hallways of the Sleipnir leading to barrack block B, blinking blearily at the stark overhead lighting, his arms full of rolled-up bandages. He had been unceremoniously woken up by Cook, not with a message, heavy with innuendo, hinting at pleasurable things to come, but with a terse admonition to keep an eye on Abel.

Not only did Cook not fuck him anymore -since Phobos called him, deservedly, an old pervert- but he was now using him to keep an eye on his potential replacement, which was beyond the pale. Did he really expect Phobos to help him get his dick wet? This was really fucked up. But he was his superior officer, and disobeying meant a stay in the brig, and the brig was the last place Phobos ever wanted to be. He'd heard stories about Beiring's dogs, and intended to stay as far away from them as possible. So he had quickly decided, even in his sleep-addled state, that the best course of action was strict but minimal compliance: he would go through the motions just enough to avoid getting into trouble.

Fuck Cook.

Which meant of course that, following the instructions he received, he needed to deliver Abel's dose of painkillers to his quarters, help him change his bandages, and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Which meant he was going to spend the last precious few hours before his shift as a glorified babysitter.

Why did Abel have to ruin a good night's sleep by getting hurt in a simple skirmish at the edge of 'teron space? Why was his asshole of a fighter in sick bay instead of taking care of him? And on tonight of all nights! After their latest fight, Deimos hadn't bothered to return, which meant Phobos didn't have to listen to him simpering in the dark while trying not to think about what was going on in the top bunk. Which meant that Phobos was going to enjoy his well-earned peace and quiet. Or not.

Phobos reached Abel and Cain's quarters and punched in the lock override code he had been given.

"Abel. I'm coming in."
