Oh crap it was happening. It was totally happening. He was in California, in Sunnydale. Which is where Buffy lived. The girl he was kind of dating. But not actually dating but like... would-definitely-be-dating-if-they-didn't-live-across-the-country-from-each-other-but-still-were-kind-of-making-it-work-but-had-never-officially-talked-about-it?
But now they were together in the same place and should probably talk about it. He was definitely going to talk about it. Because Peter wanted to make sure they were officially official boyfriend and girlfriend. With those words and the commitments and everything that came with it. Sure long-distance was going to suck but... Buffy was amazing. Really, really amazing and you didn't waste and opportunity like this.
It was actually kind of convenient in some ways that she was across the country. It's not like being Spider-Man would get in the way of their relationship that way. Like... yes he was here in Sunnydale to investigate some stuff for SHIELD via Mr. Stark but that was just a minor thing. Okay, totally not a minor thing but not a major thing. He could just scout around when he had some free time and that would be good. Probably nothing terrible would happen.
It couldn't be any worse that getting grilled by Buffy's friends. They seemed... really intense and asking him weird questions. Like... did he read weird occult books or could they see him again in the daylight. But as intense as it was they seemed like cool people. Eventually they all sort of dispersed and left Buffy and Peter by themselves.
"So," Peter said, staring as his shoes that had just become super interesting. "Can- can I walk you back home?"
