Part of the charm of being in a relationship isn't found in the amor, the grand shows and trapping. Contentment can just as easily come from the little things - or even the silly things - about being close to someone. At first, you're either naturally standoffish or wary or you're intent on impressing them and not looking like a total nerd. That's how the "getting to know you" process works, unfortunately. As you get more serious...you may actually get less so? Maybe you'll let them see your dorky humor, your weird laugh, your bizarre hobbies, your bed head. It could end up that the two of you have more fun playing video games together, Netflixing and chilling, baking cookies, or sword fighting (if you're in the olden days, where Netflix and cookies are scarce). And, really, you can't help that their clothes are so comfortable on you.

It's a good thing you guys are together. You really did gain a best bud.

[ It's one of those super lazy nights where they can actually spend time together, and for the first time, Prompto isn't looking at his phone. He'd dumped it onto the dresser the second he'd come back to the apartment they share to change, and except for glancing at it to make sure Noct hadn't texted him or had a crisis, he's practically ignored it.

Since it's only the second day of having Nyx back from some long mission – two and a half weeks is too much time spent apart when he's used to seeing him almost every day – and even though he'd had to report in for whatever, his evening had been free. So, Prompto had opted for ordering pizza (he really hadn't wanted to burn the kitchenette down trying to follow some recipe) for dinner, and once Nyx walked through the door, he'd practically attached himself to him. There were a few kisses, a couple of lazy squeezes of certain body parts, but for the most part, he'd just wanted to snuggle and talk. Which means they've been in bed for almost an hour, the pizza open at the foot of it and some random thing playing on the television. Prompto has his head pillowed on his shoulder, idling tracing some of the small tattoos on his skin as he half-watches the show that's playing. ]

Ever think about getting something else? [ He speaks randomly, voice low as he lets his thumb rub over the ones on the shell of his ear. ] Like, y'know, with me... [ Prompto has a couple, but they're nothing significant, nothing that mean anything except the barcode and that... well, he doesn't want to think about that right now. ]

( two weeks never used to be a long time. now it sometimes feels like a eternity. nyx doest know when it changed, but it's...something. he doesn't in it much. usually. it's definitely a weird thing to want to be in the city rather than put doing things in the field. prompto has shaken up his life. as scary as that might be, it's also really thrilling. it's also really nice to have someone to come home to after these long missions. sometimes he needs to decompress alone -- and he does, he'll stay at the training rooms longer, or take a long way home just to collect himself before dealing with the complexities of normal, human interaction. it's not a slight against prompto. sometimes nyx just needs to clear the metaphorical blood from his hands.

not this time, though. he's been ready for something like this since before he left. what they eat rarely matters to him, so he doesn't care it's pizza. he's less interested in that, anyway. so, there's no complaints when it's left to the side on favor of curling up with one another. never in his life would he admit to being a cuddler. it's just not something he does. but, prompto's shaken up his world in more ways than one.

he's in a zen like state. sedated enough to be zoning out just a little because of the warmth prompto's giving by leaning against him, and because of the sweet, gentle touches. he could probably fall asleep if he let himself. but, he's not ready to yet. the feel of prompto's fingers moving over his skin make it tingle in the best way. he exhales a low, soft hum to get himself out of the lazy stupor he's fallen into. also, he might like that touch against his ear and maybe wants more. )

Wouldn't mind it, if you wanted to.

( nyx has enough on his body that might seem meaningless. but, he knows why he has each one.

he shifts so he can look at prompto. )

[Fastest man alive. Saved the planet multiple times. Totally awkward but adorable nerd. Someone please kill that bug for him. Kill it with fire.]

It's just a spider, Barry. [But he drops what he's doing to scoop it up and carry it outside because it's Barry and it's kind of cute the way he reacts to something as simple as a bug.]

[Barry gives the thing a wary look as Ralph rescues it.] It's not just a spider. It's huge. Maybe it's an alien spider. I'm texting it to Kara.

[He is actually sending her a picture of it, and he frowns.]

She's laughing at me!

It's harmless, babe. [He closes the window once the spider is set free and turns to kiss him quickly, a peck on the lips to try and chase away his frown.]

Well maybe they don't have spiders on Krypton?

[He grumbles to himself.] Sure, that's what it wants you to think. I think it's evil. [Ralph's kiss helps, though. A little. Maybe he needs another one.]

No, she says it's tiny compared to actual alien spiders. That's terrifying.

[Another kiss is easily delivered as he raised an eyebrow.] Gotcha. So any alien spider invasions you're tapping out.

Don't worry. I'll get any and all bugs in the apartment.
