Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

Feelin' a bit cold, is all. Got a draft going on the down lower or somethin'.
[Though no one else seemed to be that bothered--but then again, lots of other people bunked up together, so it wasn't an issue.]
Thought maybe I could climb in with you.
[His smirk grew a bit, an eyebrow going up.]
Ain't like my size is gonna crowd you out.

[ curtis's voice never really takes on a completely joking tone, not anymore, but edgar's probably known him long enough to pick up the nuances in his words and the fact that his eyes are just the tiniest bit brighter than usual.
he shoves himself over, pulling the thin blanket back and making room for curtis. it's been awhile since they've done this sort of thing. curtis had wondered if maybe edgar had grown out of it or found someone else that he went to at night but apparently not.
apparently they'd both just been alone. ]
Come on.
[ he patted the spot he'd opened up once and then let his gaze settle on edgar, waiting for him to climb in. ]

Just for that, you're getting my cold feet on your back when you least expect it.
[There had been times in the past couple years that Edgar had debated seeking out someone else, but he realized he was ok with what he had. It might not be everything, but it didn't really have to be.
Wasn't like they got what they really wanted here, anyways. Not if they didn't grab for it.
Once Curtis shifted over, Edgar's face softened slightly, and he gave a short nod, putting a foot on one of the bunk's legs to give himself a boost up, pushing himself onto Curtis' bunk and into the space provided.]
Just don't go accidentally shovin' me out.
[The words are muttered as Edgar settled down, turning on his side, feeling the warm start to slide into his frame already. Something in him started to loosen up, even if a few other nerves started to curl up.]
...m'ch better.
no subject
[ and that floor was going to do very little in terms of keeping him warm. he'd probably end up getting stepped on too. that was never fun. \
curtis stays still while edgar gets himself settled and when it finally seems like edgar's found his spot, curtis sighs and scoots closer, providing a little extra body heat. it seemed like the cold got even worse at night, chilling them from the inside out.
the metal walls just kept the cold in and made every single thing you tried to do uncomfortable. sleeping (preferably with someone) was usually the only relief you were able to achieve. ]
You think you'll be able to sleep now?
no subject
[Edgar is calling Curtis' bluff, knowing he's right. They each had their limits, sure--but cold feet certainly wasn't Curtis'. And, well--Edgar didn't really want to press or add to the stress the other had, anyways. The feet were an empty threat, as it was.
Feeling Curtis press in closer, Edgar found himself leaning into him, letting out a soft sigh. This felt better than it had any right to feel. His fingers toyed with the frayed edges of the blanket as he answered Curtis.]
Yeah.
[It came out quiet, and a few minutes passed...but Edgar wasn't really trying to sleep, yet.]
...why'd we stop doing this, anyways?
[Edgar knew the answer--or thought he did. But having it back...he missed it.]
no subject
[ things just got in the way is his only guess. it wasn't like they had drifted away from each other -- they hadn't -- but it had apparently just gotten easier to fall into bed and stay there instead of finding each other and taking a few hours to relax. they both so rarely go to do it when the sun was out and the day was long and horrible in front of them. ]
Stuff, I guess.
[ he had no real answer but that. it wasn't anything bad that had stopped them, it was just this fucking life. this life wasn't fucking fair.
curtis sighs and reaches out, gives edgar's shoulder a squeeze and then lets his hand stay there. ]
Maybe it just wasn't cold enough for you.
no subject
Feeling the hand on his shoulder, Edgar turned slightly, so that he could see Curtis' face in the dim light, eyes traveling along the exhaustion there...Edgar wondered what Curtis looked like, before all of this. Or would have looked like, had it never come, at all.]
Yeah, or maybe you just forgot to tell me you were cold too.
no subject
[ that was a blatant lie. he got cold. they all did. he was huddled up under the blanket the same as everyone else. but, edgar had enough to deal with already so curtis talking about being cold and tired and just so fucking alone wasn't edgar's thing to burden.
that was curtis's responsibility. ]
What would you say if I had asked?
no subject
Still, at the question, Edgar frowns just slightly, trying not to get as mouthy as he usually does. Choosing his words carefully isn't something he's known for, but it probably matters, here.]
...asked you why you were toughed it out for so long. [A beat.] Guess I've always been better at making those first moves, hm? [Except not really. But he was here, wasn't he? He got this far.]
no subject
[ there were probably some deep seated reasons that curtis didn't think to ask. reasons related to how he felt about himself, how he felt about his place here and what he'd done in the past (to edgar and everyone). it was the past, a long long time ago, but it still sat heavily against his breastbone, reminding him everyday that getting close could be dangerous.
for edgar. ]
And I've just never been good at asking for things.
[ especially when it was something that he did want. ]
no subject
[Edgar smirks a little, scooting in a bit closer, hoping Curtis can't hear how his heart is hammering in his chest.]
You ask for things for other people all the time. You're just not great at askin' for stuff for yourself.
[The way that Curtis helped everyone was one of the best parts of him. Edgar strove to be more like him, in that way. Thing was, he was always a little bit more selfish.
Which might help, right now.]
...you're just lucky you have me to help with that.
[Edgar had to hope he wasn't reading this wrong; that he wasn't about to muck up everything they were, by doing one stupid thing. ...But maybe it was worth the risk. Closing the distance, Edgar pressed his lips against Curtis'. It wasn't perfect, by any means, probably clumsy more than anything--but there it was.]
no subject
he wants to forget about the world around them, contained to a dark, dirty train compartment where people die more often than not. he wants to live in this moment.
he can't, he knows, so he intends to just make it last. hands coming up, he frames edgar's face, feeling the line of sharp cheekbone and jaw underneath his palms as he leans in and kisses harder. ]
no subject
So having Curtis not only kissing him back, but kissing him like he wanted this just as much as Edgar did...it was nearly overwhelming.
Edgar made a soft sound in the back of his throat when Curtis brought his hands up to his face, swallowing the sound (long having learned how to stay quiet). One of his own arms slipped around Curtis' waist, using it to pull himself in closer to him.
Breathing was a bit of an afterthought, so Edgar had to pull away, gasping softly against Curtis' lips.]
...sorta wish I'd tried that earlier, now.
no subject
so, he doesn't smile but he doesn't move away either. he stays close to edgar, feeling his lean, lanky frame pressed up against various points on his own body.
the cold went down to his bones but the press of edgar's body was providing brief moments of warmth. ]
What stopped you?
[ curtis had some ideas, some guesses as to why edgar might have held off but he kept quiet. ]
Did you think I'd say no?
no subject
Yeah. I mean--
--figured...
[He shrugs a little, which is a bit abortive, given his current position, and really only brings him closer to Curtis. He presses his forehead against the other's, as if having even the small space between them was a bit much, now.
He figured Curtis could do better. Not that--there was much 'choice' for the tailsection, but sometimes he had worried that he just was seen as some sort of shadow to Curtis, and nothing else.]
...eh, doesn't matter what I figured. I was wrong.
no subject
but, he hadn't turned him away tonight. would things look different when they woke up? maybe but they looked like edgar and felt like edgar tonight. ]
I think you're wrong a lot.
[ maybe there's a smile in his voice despite the lack of it on his face. he's closed his eyes and he's breathing quietly, forehead pressed against edgar's. he's warm now. ]
Should be used to it.
no subject
Yeah I guess I learned from the best then, didn't I?
[He sighs, his heart still beating a bit fast from what happened. He knows he needs to sleep--they both do--but he sort of wants to find out what happens next. Pushing Curtis wouldn't be a good idea, though. So instead Edgar just brushes his lips against Curtis' again (unable to help himself) and then ducks his head under his chin, settling his face up against his neck.]
no subject
and here he was, holding someone in his arms that might die because of him. was he selfish for taking advantage? probably.
didn't mean he was going to stop.
edgar tucks himself closer and curtis drapes an arm around him, trying to share more warmth with the other man. ]
When you find the best, point him out to me, will you?
no subject
But one thing is clear to him,]
Yeah. I'll just keep pointin' at you until you believe it.
[Curtis was the best in his eyes; nothing would change that. He just lived in hopes that Curtis would see that, too, one day.]
no subject
[ he could hear the drowsiness in edgar's voice and he was absolutely going to use that as a way of getting out of this conversation. he wasn't the best and if edgar knew, if he really knew what sort of man curtis was, he'd think that too.
he sighs and slips his hand to curve around edgar's neck, under his hair so he could rub at the muscles there, coax him to sleep. ]
Don't drool on me.
