THE HOSPITAL MEME

Hospitals are important and provide life saving services. But face it, no one likes them. And people like being stuck in them even less.

Except now you are.

Try to make the best of it. How bad can things be when there's a seemingly never-ending amount of jello? Maybe you'll meet a cute doctor (or candy striper). Maybe both. Supply closets come in handy for more than just supplies.

How it works:

1. Leave a comment with your character's name, fandom, and preferences (if any).
2. Go to RNG and input 1-7. Or you can choose your own.
3. Reply to others.
4. Enjoy!

Scenarios:

1. You're sick/injured/had your tonsils out-- Whatever it is, you're stuck in the hospital! Lucky you. Hope you look good in a hospital gown. Make sure to bring a bathrobe. Those things tend to be a little skimpy in the back.

2. Someone you care about is sick/injured/just had their tonsils out-- It's your job to go cheer them up and help them get better. Pop by with some balloons or a stuffed animal from the gift shop. Maybe just offer a hand to hold and moral support (just try not to laugh if they're doped up on painkillers.)

3. In Case of Emergency-- You've just gotten the call so many people dread. Your loved one is in the E.R. Or maybe it was a wrong number, but you're the only person they could reach.

4. Emergency Shelter-- There's crazy weather and everyone is moving to safer ground. It's not ideal, but you're in a lockdown. Time to find some entertainment.

5. Work-- Buildings don't care for people. People care for people. Are you a doctor? A nurse? Candy striper? Maybe a janitor? Every job is important.

6. Stuck together-- Sometimes hospitals get overcrowded and you don't get a private room. Hopefully you like your roommate. You're stuck with them for the foreseeable future.

7. Wildcard-- Did I leave something off the list? Maybe you want to try a combination of something from the list. Here's your chance.

And you're only still standing because you're tougher than nails and therefore would refuse morphiene or strong pain killers?" Rory seemed largely unphased, glancing over his shoulder. "I'll handle this one. What's your blood type?"

[Barton...is not the hugest fan of hospitals. Spend enough time in them and even the jello starts to get kind of boring, no matter how many bets you con the nurses into taking over what the color of the day is going to be.

It doesn't help that Barton doesn't exactly do well with inactivity. He's already tried to turn any piece of paper within his reach into a paper airplane and thrown them at anyone within range (which, stab wound or no, is still considerable) and then moved on to trying to turn anything else he could get his hands on into a projectile. And had most of them promptly confiscated. Which would be why he's currently flipping through the channels on the TV in his room at a speed that might make anyone else sick, trying to find SOMETHING to watch.]

[Homicide cops don't generally do rescue and evac work, but when a hurricane hits LA it's all men on deck. Badd's in charge of wrangling the crowds that have taken refuge at a local hospital. He's wet and he's cold and this sucks, but at least he's not one of the people who were in the hospital legitimately before this whole mess went down. Badd moves through the crowds, letting his presence do the work of keeping people in line, and looking for those who might need a helping hand.]

5 It's going to be Scrubs but with Seakitties

[ My first day on the shift, and already it's not going well. Sure, I was practically done my education, I got pretty lucky with that accelerated program. But despite all of the things I learned, dealing with several patients at once was not one of them. Biology and chemistry was only going to get you so far in theory. Well, I guess that's why internships exist.

At least the doctor I was helping was chill. Weird, she looked way younger than me, but she was actually my superior. Huh, the worlds a pretty weird place sometime. Anyway, she was handling this all so well, even though it seemed like files were all over the place, and too many people needed attention at once. I followed behind her, holding a file folder with the latest patient's information. ]

Gohda, Toshiro...seems like he got a nasty stomach virus. Kinda ironic since he's a chef, don't you think? [ I tried to crack a bit of a joke. To be honest, as comforting as it was that she didn't let a whole lot get to her, her facial expression rarely changed.

And that kinda scared me. ]

[It was rare that the Holmes Boys ever got sick and rarer yet that they ended up in hospital, but here was Mycroft with a case of appendicitis. Well, post-operation at any rate. But, he had a bad reaction to the anesthetic and what should have been out-patient or at the very least only a one-night stay has turned into three days at this point. And he's getting restless. He doesn't expect anyone to come visit him.]

He was the first one to see the smoke coming from a door down the hall. John quickly hits the fire alarm, "Everyone out, evacuation procedures!" The nurses spring into action, trying to get all of the patients out.

John grabs the nearest extinguisher and heads towards the fire, playing the stream into it. He can see there's about three people trapped in the room behind the fire and he's trying to clear a path to them. But the fire is spreading faster than he can put it out and he can't breathe too well in here. Coughing, he tries to keep from breathing in the smoke. He can't just abandon them in there.

Every ninja expects to die in battle. Few, however, expect that their greatest fight will be waged within their own body. Itachi never did. And yet, here he was... losing that fight.

He had finally fallen asleep when the doctors came in with a stretcher. The commotion was more than enough to wake him up. He was about to have company.

[When those cobalt blues opened, she immediately could sense not all was right. The surroundings were not what she saw last, nor the familiar set-up of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s infirmary. There was far much more noise and none of the right people (except her ever present constant and anchor). And internally, setting making things obvious aside, Tasha could feel things were amiss. Her ribs burned and ached, making breathing a daunting task. Her head felt as though Rhino had charged into it repeatedly. Anything else was currently diminished by painkillers.

It had been a trying couple of days, but the medical staff had insisted that Clint (and Connor) couldn't see Arthur until he was out of the ICU, which given the amount of blood he'd lost, and just how close a couple of those glass shards had come to severing his spinal column, they were lucky that it was only a couple of days until he was moved into a general room in the medical wing.

Of course, Clint and Connor had been out at the park terrorizing the ducks when he was moved, but they were informed as soon as they got back, and they went to see him immediately, even despite the fact that Connor still had sand in his pockets and Clint wasn't much better off himself.

From his gaze making him blush wouldn't be hard - but he was quite genuinely that rare combination of straight and not even slightly interested in her.
