WHAT A DAY
![]() DARING RESCUE MEME You're in a predicament. That predicament is either: you need to be rescued. Bad. Even if you're technically safe you need to get out of whatever situation you're in. And if you're not safe, well... it's just more important then, isn't it? Your other option of course is that you need to rescue someone. You have to find them, get them out, get them to where they really belong. Or you're like, picking them up from a bad date. WHATEVER. No matter the severity of the situation, be careful how you go about it, huh? We wouldn't want to have any accidents. |

"Well whatever amount of a plan it was, it was still better than anything I was coming up with." Given enough of a chance he would have come up with something. Probably. The mention of BB-8 had Poe turning his head to look over in the droid's direction, cracking a smile. "BB's a good listener. I'm sure he was confident in the plan." A quiet series of beeps from the droid had him taking a drink to try and hide an amused grin.

Truthfully he was already picking up on a little bit of droidspeak, enough to know that they had accents the same way people did, and two of them saying the same thing didn't always mean the same thing. But he was confident that he'd pick up on it sooner rather than later, he just had to work at it was all. As soon as he had time to do anything of the sort.

"He's not saying anything bad. Just that he was concerned." Poe remarked. "Which I mean, he's concerned about my plans all the time. But they always work out in the end." Those words prompted BB-8 to look his way and the next set of beeps managed to hold a sarcastic tone. "They do!"
Chuckling, his attention turned back to Finn. "And you'll pick it up. It's easier the more you hear. I definitely didn't learn it overnight." It was true that their time was usually taken up with other, more pressing matters, but learning at least the basics of the language would be useful. There were always droids around, even if they weren't all as chatty as his. Poe was sure BB-8 wouldn't mind helping either, or at least he was sure that he could convince the droid to be helpful.

The response made Finn smile outright, "Well that means that my plans have at least as much of a success rate as yours do so far. Better, even." Given as how Finn had only had the one real plan so far, and it had worked well.
He couldn't help the laugh when the droid swiveled to look at him again for a moment before rocking back slightly and turning back to Poe with what Finn could only surmise was agreement.

Maybe it was the painkillers or the exhaustion but it felt good to laugh and relax a little. There weren't too many opportunities for that, or at least that was how it felt more often than not. So often things were life or death but at least for a little while that wasn't a stress on their shoulders. He knew it wouldn't last but that was okay, he would enjoy it -- and the time with Finn -- while he could and then let those memories tide him over until the next such time they could afford to relax.

He gave a shrug, "You just have to know when to cede something." He replied, though he was still teasing, the same way they already had been, "And the fact that you know when someone's better than you are at something, well, that takes guts to admit to."
