Crazy but I like it

THE CRACK PAIRING MEME

crack pairing

An unusual relationship of any kind of fandom (i.e. books, television shows, movies, ect.) that is unlikely to happen.

OR

Randomly take two characters… they don’t have to know each other, they don’t have to show ANY signs of a relationship, and hook them together. That is a crack pairing.

We all know them. Fandoms have fostered these little gems of shipping since the early days, and now, they can even be serious contenders in even the most hostile of shipping wars. Maybe they're absolutely ridiculous and only "for the lulz." Perhaps they make perfect sense...if you squint. Whatever the case may be, these so-called "crack" pairings are not canon and they're nowhere near as popular in fandom as the big fanon pairings.

Most of the time.

Of course, it's important to note that a lot of the time in RP, pairings are always crack pairings. Especially crossover ships, which canon purists would deride purely for being impossible. Still, in memes, that's less likely to happen because people either stick with canon ships, fanon ships, or close CR because of the lack of opportunities for development that games offer.

Not here. This meme is for ALL your ridiculousness, all your high school fangirl dreams, and just plain not being sorry for your ships. Think these characters would be cute together? Go for it. That character have adorable icons and that all you know about them? Ship it, by all means. Here, the reasons come after the desire.

RULES
- Comment with your character and preferences. If you want, you can include a one sentence or so blurb about your character. But blank comments are fine.
- Tag others.

Touma Mimasaka | original character | M*/M preference

[On the professional side of things, he's keen-eyed, curt, and not always the most friendly at times. For interpersonal relationships, he's careful, almost doting, and will absolutely let a significant other see him gush about cats.

[He's king of beer-and-bitch night, too. That's a thing. Let him slide a cold one your way and listen to your woes. He's a "get shit done" more than just a sympathetic ear, so your character will need to be clear if they don't want fixes.

[Women are welcome for ships, too, but I'm not as confident with those. Furthermore, if we go any smut route, Touma's somewhat fantasy-like intersex. Details are in the journal.]

[ooc: So I was kinda hoping that maybe they could start as a professional relationship, colleagues/business collaboration/etc that sort of thing and maybe go from there? But if you have any ideas you wanna shoot out at me, I'm ota ^^]

[ooc: Professional is definitely a valid way to start things off! I'm not very certain how to suggest a starter on that front, however, so I don't have anything distinct in mind. :( ]

Trinity worked many a job as a freelancer and jack of all trades. There were the more common jobs, the ones he often went to every day of the week, but lately he'd taken a temporary contract with a company for a year, to help out around the office. He was sort of everything he needed to be when called upon; he was originally hired simply as tech support, until they could find someone to fill the position, but he'd somehow been roped into being the office lackey as well. He ran errands, went out and got things for coworkers, made copies, brought lunch and coffees, set up meetings, all sorts of tasks that weren't part of his job description. He did them all without complaint and didn't seem to mind that since he was a temp worker, more than a few of the workers looked down on him.

Of his coworkers, he was probably the closest to Touma, and even then, it was still in a mostly professional stance. He still called him by his last name, trying not to be too over familiar with him, and yet his actions seemed to belie his professional stance. He didn't seem to understand that it was unusual, almost strange for someone to constantly touching one of their coworkers. He would touch him on the hand, the wrist, the shoulder, the arm, once even on the waist, just to get his attention or to redirect it somewhere else. He asked him for help with work related things and only talked to him about his preferences for food and drinks when it came to order taking it he seemed very good at sending confusing, mixed signals.

Was he interested? Was he not? It could be so hard to tell.

Looks good!

It had taken everything in Touma not to violently slap Trinity's hand away the first time he felt his touch at his waist. Thankfully, therapy had gotten him to even reach that successful point, and all he'd had to do afterward was hunker down in the bathroom for several minutes to calm down.

Still, he didn't dare make any forward assumptions, so he pretended that Trinity was just the friendly, touchy type. Even so, as much as he'd not reacted to every touch prior to the contact to his waist, now, he did.

The slightest touches were enough to make him flush slightly, even as he pretended that his face wasn't turning from a shade of pink to red.

In any case, it was none of his business, and Trinity wasn't making a definitive move. Best to pretend that any interest he had was superficial.

For now, paperwork awaited him, stacked high yet again the moment he had clocked out the other day. Still, he diligently worked for several hours before heading to the break room to grab some coffee. He could definitely smell it, so hopefully it hadn't been sitting for more than an hour.

His mind briefly wandered to Trinity again, and stubbornly, he pushed his coworker out of his mind.

It would be really hard to stomach it if Trinity's interest twisted up once he found out more about him.
