Drop the beat. Is your character King of Westeros, a soldier from the '40s, or even an assassin from the Renaissance Era? Not anymore.

Re: abraham lincoln {abraham lincoln: vampire hunter}
It almost makes him glad he lost that finger over in Afghanistan, fighting the good fight against those...evil people who lived in Afghanistan.
(He's had to rework his language since returning to the states because his unit hadn't told him any of that was offensive but he's almost gotten all the slurs out of his system. He really does try to be the nicest to everyone, even the people he's planning to explode. Andrew feels it's the best policy.)
The pinkie was always the most useless digit anyway. Aside the lost finger he's got some burn scars on his hands and up his arm, usually covered by the long sleeves of his vintage bomber jacket. "Hiya, Abe!" he says, wandering in with his hands in his pockets and a bright grin on his face. "How's it going?"

Betsy Bathory ∞ Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
She resumed her name when she arrived in America and has been living in the New York/DC area since. Going by Betsy Bathory now, she runs an elite, high-priced call girl service. In her spare time, she coerces girls off the streets with promises of more. She rarely delivers.]

thieving au is a go.
To be exact, they sneak into places of the highest security and attempt to steal things of even higher value, just for kicks. As far as hobbies go, no one would ever suspect Emma and Knightley, with their combined wealth, to be such thrill-seekers. And that was the beauty of it all.
Emma, donned in black of course, with her curly hair pulled into a high bun away from her face, sits in the stakeout car, binoculars to her face. ] Do you see them, dear?
this is an au?

loki // the mighty thor + journey into mystery
option b pls, precious little asshole kid
[There's a place, in some AU universe, where things don't end up as nicely for Loki after Everything Burns as they do in canon. No kissing handmaidens. All-mommies exiled. All-daddy's brought back. A certain young scamp is sacrifice by the brother he betrayed to heal the illustrious World Tree. Everything pretty much sucks at the end of that AU arc. Good thing Loki doesn't remember it. And hey, it's not all bad. Thor isn't a member of the army of Hel's dead, for one. And that cute little mutt named after him never betrayed his little master.]
[Loki's leaving Asgard alone, and in this case, 'Loki' doesn't even exist anymore. So besides from Odin and Thor not speaking to each other except to trade insults (which, really, is not that new), the late Asgardia, now Asgard again, is a pretty content place, with everyone working on rebuilding what burned, and helping to see that Yggdrasil recovers in the months following the Great Burning.]
[They don't need Thor's help to do it. And so, he's spent more time on Midgard than he has in centuries, in entire lifetimes. The Avengers are getting sick of seeing him, honestly. Like having a teacher that never leaves the classroom. Though, most of his time is spent in Oklahoma, not New York.]
[No doubt Lock feels something similar to the Avengers, as far as Thor's concerned. Thor had promised to watch over him, protect him from harm. But he had planned to do so from a distance, had meant to. Instead, he found himself dressed in mortal's shirts and jeans, bared of armor, carrying a walking stick he doesn't use, and calling himself Don Blake which, were his other self still conscious in his head, he would be ashamed to hear. Don's poor reputation, his unfortunate patients...]
[But Donald Blake's time is over, along with the time of Loki, and Asgardia. All is changed.]
[And still Thor hangs around Lock, sees that he is well fed from Broxton's diners and stores of convenience, sees that he is sheltered and warm on these cold fall nights. Spoils him, perhaps, as atonement for destroying in name, in memory, the brother he loves.]
Here. [He hands Lock a Stark Phone, new and unused. Stark said he's getting sick of giving them to Thor, but in pride for his technology, gave the newest model all the same. What are they up to, five? Thor has no idea.] I had meant to gift it sooner, but had other matters on mind.
It is a Stark Phone. [Lock probably knows it, but Thor has lost track of what this newest incarnation of Loki knows and does not, and errs on the side of caution, always, even though he doesn't like it. It feels too similar to lying.]

Apostates, why is it always apostates?Fortunately, for everyone involved, Alistair got recruited out of his eccentric organization by a special Interpol task force. Warden is a bit of a flashy title, nowadays, but the grey uniforms do help tone that down a bit.
Effectively, he's a detective and he's keeping an eye out to make sure nobody decides to try something funny and resurrect any old gods, or some-such nonsense. Additionally, he can sense old gods and darkspawn from a mile away...where they found the blood to pull that off is anyone's guess, but he's got some in him and it has a few perks.]

Living it up in a condo she bought with pilfered cash. Technically speaking, since she won the money, but cheated at cards to do so. She's gotten good at that. Enough to never bother holding a job for more than a month at a time. More often than not, she lasts a week doing honest labor, and then she disappears again.
Like magic, if not bothering to show up for work in the morning is magical.
The inside of her apartment isn't rank, but it ain't pretty either. Boxed dildo on the coffee table, dishwasher half-open because Hawke lost interest in that chore before it got started, and in the kitchen three half-eaten slices of pizza with everything on it. They all have two bites in each, since in her opinion, the start of a slice is the best beginning to anything in the world.
But outside-- hey, normalcy! Bristly brown welcome mat, reasonably clean matching door. Unremarkable. Not at all the home of a wizard.]
Aria T'Loak | Mass Effect
If you want something from Aria, if you're willing to make a deal with that devil, tracking her down is easier than it should be. She has a string of nightclubs, but when she walks in the room, it's like the monarchy has arrived. You'll know when she's in and when she isn't.
The lights can play tricks, though, and you shouldn't listen to junkies who spread rumors about a blue devil. Aria may like her tattoos but, no matter what you've heard, she's quite human. Whether or not she can kill a man with her mind is up for debate.]
Re: Aria T'Loak | Mass Effect
Unless one counts the body glitter on gyrating men and women alike, the shiny whites around irises and dilated pupils, cute little twitching sticker-spangled butts. She's a bit of a dog, only looking to make her day, and the night of anyone who stops to give the time.
Her megawatt rogue's grin is enough to catch the bartender's attention. He knows better than to really indulge her, and not even the subtlest wink or obvious button-popping gets Hawke a free drink. So it is the magician slouches comfortably against the counter, posture hideous, but rocking the cheap mens' pirate costume anyway. The appletini clashes with her massive Hook hat, but there is no telling her that.]
