[There's a saying about taking care though — or at least he thinks there is. It's something he'd heard in the time he was out and on the run. He's not sure where that makes it fit in terms of proper colloquialism or not, but the idea that a person who could still be gentle couldn't be irreparably broken had stuck with him.

Perhaps it's just wishful thinking. But that hardly matters right now, not when there's the task of cleaning up and packing away the supplies.

I've performed field repairs on my arm before. I can be delicate. [He shakes his head a little, with a chuckle. He's probably supposed to say something like "next time don't get hurt" but that's not really a thing in their lives anymore.]

You can call me when you're not hurt too, you know. How's the pain?

I don't doubt it. [ that bucky can be delicate with his touch when he wants to be. he's a human being, humans have that capability, even after being brainwashed and used for decades as a super-enhanced assassin.

the question earns a curious glance, though, and he glances back over his shoulder as if he can see the bandages through the fabric of his shirt. ]

Oh. It's not bad. [ he glances back up at bucky again, gesturing, and the bloodied tunic disappears, the medkit sweeping across the room to put itself away. he rises carefully then, nodding to the bottle and glasses. ] Bring those. The study's probably more comfortable than here.

Some would. [The metal arm is a thing, after all. For some people, it's all they see. The fact that there's a few who don't still surprises him.

As does his companion's insistence that the pain isn't bad. Then again he'd mentioned the thread being enchanted, hadn't he? It's still strange to think about things like true magic but used like this? Bucky is all for it.
]

You know, I don't think I'll ever get used to that. [It's not a complaint, and he's gathering up the bottle and glasses with that lopsided smile.] Lead the way.
