Kenma tends to have the attitude of "you did this to yourself" and a moderate level of empathy even when it's people he likes. With all the gung-ho volleyball freaks around, there isn't a shortage of injuries by any means, and certain people are more accident prone than others. Namely short middle blockers who receive things with their face and have bad form.]

[ listen, peter tries to stick to his neighborhood. honest. but there's a heck of a lot of crime in manhattan, and he was in hell's kitchen, anyway. some little kid got lost in the midtown crowds and, well, sure peter could have dropped him off at any number of police precincts, but you try telling a little boy that spider-man's going bye-bye immediately after picking him up, huh.

"You're sure you live here?" he'd said upon entering the dingy building. the kid only nodded. turns out he was telling the truth 'cause peter knocks on the double-bolted door and finds himself greeted with a cry of relief. in no time, the kid in his mother's arms, while he's left standing in the hallway in his primary-coloured onesie, a rush of air from the door slamming in his face. guess spider-man takes the front door now. maybe the whole spandex-clad-guy-holding-your-kid's-hand was a bad look, especially considering the varying quality of his times square lookalikes these days.

whatever. he did his whole thing: looking out for the littlest guy, just like he promised mr. stark. no problemo.

It's bullshit, is what it is. This entire situation can be summed up with that one word pretty fucking concisely.

Fighting is apparently only the school's concern when it occurs at school. Not exactly news to anyone, but still. Bullshit.

Djem's hurt, though not as badly as he could have been, or as bad as the other guy. All he really has to show for his trouble is a busted lip and a swollen cheekbone that's gonna bruise up real bad by tomorrow, and a temper that's still simmering right in the pit of his chest. That, and a three day suspension, though in all honesty that's the least of his concerns.

Scraped up knuckles, red and almost as angry as he was - is - still kinda sting, not helped from him trying and failing to defend his actions to the principal back in the office. He hasn't talked to his dads yet. Hell, he hasn't even really looked either of them in eye since they left his school; this is the kind of conversation he knows is gonna happen once they get home, and also happens to be the kind that he dreads.

Once they pull up outside the house, Djem doesn't even wait for the engine to die down before his seatbelt's off and he's getting out of the car. The door slamming could be argued to be accidental, but that's neither here nor there; right now his goal is just to get to his room and hope that the aforementioned 'talk' can just be skipped indefinitely.
