[ This could actually mean that Thor might be able to drag him back into the land of the living. Or at the very least that his version of Loki had never really died and just needed to be dragged back to Asgard. Again. ]

[Loki considers the request to switch to video for a few seconds, his eyebrows furrowed, before he accepts it. He will look much like Thor remembers him, but not exactly so, with his hair a little longer and the look in his eyes a little less sharp and bitter.]

[ When the camera switched on, Thor's expression went from brooding vulnerability to the regaining of a little hope. It was good to see Loki's face. Again he found himself wanting to see his actual face (without the ashen skin shot through with black lines). ]
I hit you with--?! [ His jaw dropped open in shocked concern. He honestly couldn't imagine why he'd ever do such a thing. But then the answer why became obvious as he thought about the other times they'd fought. The betrayal stung and angered him, but sadness was honestly his first response to thinking of being hurt so again. ] You hid it. You hid that you'd lived. And you tried something dangerous again, didn't you?
Thor blinked, staring down at the device in his hand. He did not understand why he still had it, to be quite honest. Jane had wanted him to have one. Steve had suggested it was a good idea as well. Once they were in space, the phone might as well have been a paperweight for all the signal it did not get.
Which is why the mystery text shocked him so. His eyes narrowed and he turned in his seat on the shuttle, glancing around at the fellow Asguardians. Most were asleep, resting while Thor took watch. He, Heimdall, Valkyrie and Loki all would take turns, watching while the others slumbered.
His eyes widened as he spied Loki far off to the other side of the ship. He too had some sort of magical device in his hand. From this distance, Thor could not recognize such a thing, but he wondered if it was the fellow trickster sending him such a message.
Well, he thought to himself, making amends doesn't exactly mean he's changed, does it?
Oh? And how long has it been since your last encounter with the fucking of ups?
Thor smirked as he typed out the reply, turning back to the glass and gazing out at the stars ahead. He quickly shoved the phone into a fold of his cape, hiding it out of sight.

It wasn't that Loki was very fond of Midgardian technology, per se.
He wasn't fond of anything Midgardian as a general rule, and Earth's technology was slow and limited to him, relying on fragile electronics instead of powerful magic. But he had acquired a 'cell phone' on his last stay on Midgard, and had kept it in one of his many magic pockets, in case it ever came of use. And when he'd seen Thor had a similar device as well, the temptation to write him a message had just been too great to resist.
Maintaining phone signal through his magic was not difficult and he grinned as his phone chirped. He stayed where he was, sitting against the metal wall of the ship, a little secluded from the others, and read the message, snorting quietly before he typed a reply.
Long enough for it to be out of character. Perhaps you should worry, brother.
Thor was pretty sure that some magic trickery had to be involved in some way to be getting any kind of signal this far away from Earth. The corners of his lips tweaked up a little higher and he pulled out his phone, making sure that the noise was off, to only be notified by the vibrating thing like Steve had taught him.
I worry about many things, brother. You fucking up is not one of them anymore. We made a good team back there. Or perhaps you just need to find a female Asgardian to keep you warm. Perhaps you are confusing your fucks, dear brother.
One hand reached up and he covered his mouth to stifle any noise that may come out of it. Yes, it was immature and a bit inane, but Thor really wanted that right about now. They had too much loss for anything less.
For the one who could see off the edge of the Bifrost into another realm and count the times a butterfly beat it's wings before taking flight, being able to read a Midgardian communication unit held in Loki's hand from where Heimdall stood on the bridge was easy. The noise that the communication unit Thor held let him know where the message went.
He wasn't going to do it. He really shouldn't do it. They were both adults now, and should have a certain amount of privacy for one to speak alone to each other without his watchful eyes if they wanted.
But wait. Heimdall's mind flashed to moments in the young Asgardian brother's lives, as they grew together, played together. Plotted together and got into mischief together. Stifling a sigh, the golden-eyed guardian turned his head in Thor's direction, easily reading the ongoing conversation between the two so far.
Thor was right, there was some magic trickery at play here. But it was harmless enough, considering. Especially for Loki.
He snorted louder at the reply, sending Thor an amused glance and shaking his head mock-disapprovingly at him.

He smirked, knowing Thor would not want to hear about his sex life. He arched an eyebrow at looked over when he felt Heimdall's power hover over him, giving a nonchalant shrug. "Why not? I find myself bored, Heimdall. And we both know how dangerous that is."
Thor looked up at Heimdall, raising an eyebrow at the man who had watched the both of them grow to the men that they were today. At least if they were acting like this, they weren’t fighting? His head tilted to the side and he at least had the grace to try to smile at Hemidall. He thought about hiding the phone, trying to pretend like he wasn’t doing what he had been, but it was Heimdall. That would only be a waste of time and effort.
“You must admit, dear friend, that it is better we are sparring with words than weapons,” he said with a laugh. He couldn’t believe how happy that he was now, saving Asgard and finally feeling like he had a place with Loki once more. Finally they had seemed to fix their relationship and for the better.
It was all Thor had ever wanted.
Turning his chair to fully face both of them, Thor heard his brother’s reply before he read it. Glancing back and forth between Loki and Heimdall, he watched with bemusement at the wit of Loki and the inevitable roll of eyes at Heimdall. “Do we really want to know what happens when Loki finds himself bored? I am doing us all a favor in keeping him entertained. It is for the good of Asgard…”
Glancing down at the phone, Thor read the reply and his eyes widened. A loud laugh escaped, something he could not even try to contain.
Perhaps, dear brother, we both should do some searching. And revere each other with our tales of great conquests. In glorious detail.
