Is it? My intent isn't to please the listener. My mind simply responds to the sensation of being part of a communication with the impulse to express affection, because it learned some time ago that expressing affection was a pleasant thing to do. The sentiment isn't for the other half of the conversation so much as for the conversation itself.

All part of the further romanticized nothingness of human emotions.
