ways to show affection When it comes to the way affection is shown, everyone has a different way they go about it. That means that there's a pretty good chance, with regards to couples, you could end up with two people who have two varying approaches towards how they prove they care...sometimes radically varying, which can lead to more than a little confusion or hurt feelings if there's not proper communication. Quinn sat on the edge of Casey's bed as he waited for her to wake up, fiddling with the apparatus in his hands. A Gameboy, as he read in the English letters at the top of it. He'd discovered it on his most recent trip to Earth, and it had amused him. There were far more advanced technologies in both that and other worlds, but something about the simplistic design and the bright green color had caught his eye.

He'd taken a handful of games back home with him. There was one about a plumber who had a vendetta against a monkey, one where you trapped monsters in tiny balls and forced them to fight against each other (which seemed pretty barbaric, really), and then he'd turned on a new game, and been startled to recognize the names of all the characters.

It wasn't the first time he'd heard of this kind of thing. Worlds collided more often than not. After all, the Niflheim were hardly the only beings who were able to travel between worlds and times and who could spread stories around. But, still, in this particular case, it was a story from Casey's own world, and he couldn't help but think she'd be fascinated--not only with the coincidence, but with the technology itself. And so, despite the fact that it was most certainly breaking several Niflheim rules, he'd brought it here.

It was hardly the worst crime he'd committed.

As he turned the power on, the words "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" came onto the screen.

( they don't often have a lot of time to spare. not that prompto is majorly busy in all the ways cor is, but it's sometimes hard to find time to spend together. because when they're training together at the citadel, it's totally not the same at all. that's all business, and prompto's learned to keep it separate in his mind. now. before he'd get flustered enough he'd mess up simple things. it was embarrassing enough that prompto had to shape himself up to get himself together. it takes a lot for prompto to be proud of himself. he's feeling that a little more now.

anyway. for the past week, prompto's been training with some of the glaives instead of the crownsguard, so he's barely seen cor at all. honestly? it's a bummer. they still text, but it's not a lot. they even manage a three minute conversation while passing in the hallway one day. but, it's not enough. not nearly enough.

it's last minute when they make plans, but prompto doesn't care. noct's busy with princey stuff, so prompto's flying solo. which was shaping up to be a boring night. not anymore, though. wings had practically carried him over to cor's. desperate maybe, but prompto really doesn't care. he's antsy with the need to give and get affection.

not that he doesn't feel that often anyway, but whatever.

they talk for a little while, the tv playing softly in the background. eventually, though, prompto finds himself straddling over cor's lap. his fingers gently scratch through the short hair on either side of cor's head, then travel down the sides of his neck. just the tips of a few fingers move up again, feeling along the line of his jaw and enjoying the difference between the rasp of stubble and smoothness of the longer hair on his chin. he leans in and presses a kiss there on his chin.

a small smile pulls on prompto's mouth, tugging up one side in a playful sort of way. his fingers move up, massage gently against cor's temples for a few seconds  then make an attempt to smooth out the lines that always seem to crease up there. again, he leans in and presses three kisses along the width of his forehead.

the tip of one finger follows the slope of cor's nose, then prompto taps the tip before that's also followed with a kiss. he repeats the same to either cheek -- touching gently first, then following with a kiss. this feels like the longest he's gone without talking. and, he kinda feels like he might ruin the soft intimacy that's currently happening. so, he decides to just keep going with this and shut himself up.

except, there's no light touch to precede the kiss. prompto's hands settle on either side of cor's face before he leans in to kiss him. it's not hurried or hard. just a sweet press of lips that lingers, wanting more and leaving an opening for cor to take it should he want it. )
