The Size-Shifting Meme

This meme is for playing out everything where one party is a different size than the other. All configurations are welcome!

Shrinking and growing are popular themes in movies, comics, tv shows, and even in classic stories such as Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver’s Travels, and ancient mythologies. The large and the strong are usually treated with respect, while the small and the weak are not; height and physical strength are tied in to power dynamics. So, when a character changes size, it changes their outlook on the world, and it often changes other's outlook on them.

How they view themselves and how others view them, and the resulting actions and reactions are dependent on several factors. What kind of person were they before, and whether or not their personality will differ significantly with a loss or addition of power. Was the change intentional or not? If so, what were their motives? Can the change be reversed? Do they or others even want it to be reversed?

How to Play
•Comment with your character and your preferences, and be sure to include information about your character's original height, and what height they’ve transformed to.
•Comment to others.
•Use the RNG to determine prompts or just go with the flow.

1.) Growing Pains: All of your friends and family seem to be getting taller, bigger, and stronger but you’ve somehow missed out and remain the same. Or on the contrary, perhaps you went on a trip and return home/to school/to work to find you’ve outgrown everyone else.
2.) Born This Way: You’ve always been smaller or bigger, it’s everyone else you encounter who needs to stop making such a big deal about it.
3.) A Nefarious Plot: A villain has shrunk you! Perhaps you’re a damsel in distress waiting for a hero to save you, or perhaps you’re the hero and found yourself brought down to size by the villain, or you could just be an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Instead, the villain could have turned you into a giant unwitting menace to everyone else. Or to the contrary, you’re the villain and you’ve found a way to make yourself into a powerful giant, or perhaps you’ve found a way to shrink your heroic nemesis. Either way, you’re large and in charge at last.
4.) Ongoing: You’ve not only shrunk/grown, you’re still shrinking/growing. Just how small/tall will you get?
5.) Everyday Life: How does your smaller/larger size impact your day-to-day life? Are you having to shop for clothes in the kids’ section? Can you fit inside your house? How about work and school? Is the media hounding you? Are scientists wanting to run tests on you? How are those closest to you handling your new size, and how are you handling being around them now?
6.) Romance: Is your significant other still in love with you? Or if you don’t have a special someone, will you be able to find someone who can see past your size and love you for you? Or perhaps your sudden change further ignites the flames of passion between the two of you.
7.) Fantastic Voyage: You (and probably others) intentionally shrank down to take an internal tour of the human body and find some mysterious ailment inside a world leader before it’s too late to save them.
8.) Kaiju War: Godzilla is attacking Tokyo, King Kong’s attacking New York. It’s up to you to stop them! Perhaps you’re in a titanic mech, or maybe those crafty government scientists were able to grow you into a giant to fight the giant monsters that are plaguing your world. Fight fire with fire right?
9.) Secret Agent Man: A new form of espionage; spies like you shrink down to access areas regular sized people are locked out of and are able to get information undetected.
10.) It's A Living: Being so tall and strong, you've found yourself the center of a lot of job offers; construction, military, advertising, entertainment industry, firefighter, and police officer are just a few.
11.) Unforeseen Side-Effects: Perhaps the shrinking process left you with super strength. Or the growth process had a detrimental effect on your mental capabilities and now you’re a cannibalistic giant. Either way, more than a sudden change in mere size has happened to you.
12.) Unaware: Suddenly finding yourself smaller can be daunting, but without anyone knowing you’re down there can be downright dangerous. Or on the contrary, perhaps you are the one that’s unaware of a smaller person or people in your midst.
13.) Downsizing: Shrinking is simply the newest trend. Whether you want to live like a tiny billionaire, or your goal is to reduce your ecological footprint (and your real one too).

[Arthur was sleeping in their usual spot by the beach. While it wasn't unusual for Arthur to turn into a giant in the middle of night. Except for Kjersten she might find his heart beat sounded a bit louder. While he was usually 50 feet tall in his giant form he now seem to be an extra 10 to 60 feet tall. His chest rising slowly up and down below her as it thumped against her.

The pendant that controlled his growth seemed to be glowing erratically. Sparks may be coming from it as if it was broken.]

[Allie was always told not to go near humans when they passed through the forest - they were dangerous and didn't understand the ways of the fairies or the forest, and could pose a threat to one so young. But even with the warnings, she couldn't help but be curious about them. She watched from a distance, studying them, and for creatures so big and wingless, they seemed so jovial and friendly to each other. Surely it wouldn't hurt to look a little closer sometime...]

[Arthur was wondering in the forest seems this human wanted to go for a walk. It seemed something sparked his interest, one of the critters was passing by. It was a bunny as he kneeled down to watch it, he plucked on of the flowers trying to usher it to come closer gently. He seemed to have soft eyes and gentle smile. He really seemed to like nature as he softly spoke.]

[Allie had been watching from her perch in the trees, careful not to flutter her wings too loudly lest he hear her. She frowned slightly at the plucking of the flowers, but watching his face as he coaxed the rabbit, there wasn't a trace of malice in his features, as if he genuinely just wanted to say hello. That warmed her heart - most humans just ignored them, or some even hunted them. Intrigued, Allie tried to lean in for a closer look.

But that snapped the branch she was hiding behind and she lost her balance, tumbling toward the ground before she caught herself with her wings. But now she was wide in the open and in plain sight of the human. Uh oh!]

The problem with space travel, was that each planet was different, as were those who lived on them. Many were without life at all, and then those that did have life lacked sentient life. And then those that had sentient life, they came in all shapes and sizes. Peter Quill, in a mad dash escape from a Kree battle cruiser, had a crash landing on a planet he'd never been to before. His ship the Milano came to a stop near the edge of a cliff - still a safe distance, but cutting it close. He hopped out and looked around. Forests, seemed quiet. He turned on his headphones and started getting to work repairing his ship - oblivious to the world around him.

The ground made a rumble behind him, almost as if like... Footsteps? Either way whatever made the tree tops rustles, a large shadow hovered between in and out of them. If one were to look closer at this shadow they could see a rather large young man, messy hair but still a 50 foot giant was making his way through the forest. Trying his best to be careful to get through to the otherside. It seems he was looking for a nearby town on this night.

With the combination of focusing on repairing his ship and enjoying his music, Quill completely missed the signs of someone or something being in the vicinity, even something large enough to shake the trees. At least until the shadow passes by him and the ship. He pulls out one side of his headphones, and then he notices the sounds, and recognizes how the very ground is trembling.

"The hell?" he stares into the trees to try and figure out what could be in there.

[My it was quite amusing how Alice get herself in messes like this. Seems she found one of the biscuits that make her shrink in size. Giving a chuckle as his appeared above her as he tilted his head. Watching his friend shrink from the table.]

She had seen him shrunken in size before, so there wasn't really any shock in that. What baffled her with the news Scott had brought along with him. ]
