You just can't get enough of this person, whether it be love, lust, or both. You'd do anything to get to spend more time with them; a little bit is never enough! But the moments you can be together are few and far between. One of you is always on the road, there's duties to be beholden to, your relationship is so forbidden that chances of being caught are too high to justify much risk. Even if you, on the off chance, live together, it seems like you're always just missing each other. More likely, though, you live a considerable distance apart. Or maybe, you know, one of you could be the captain of a ship of the undead, only allowed to come to shore every ten years! ...no? Not really? At any rate, you two are having one of your rare get togethers, and you're making up for lost time. Perhaps you need some life-affirming, to know that they're still there and still waiting for you. On the other hand, you might just want to go all day for no reason at all. There doesn't need to be an explanation. Neither of you have to justify yourselves to anyone, you just have to soak each other up. Hopefully, nothing's changed between you, though you might have to spend time relearning the curves of their body - but actually, that's nothing you'd ever forget. You have their whole form memorized, and all their weak spots, too, so you can think about them when you're alone. Now, you're making every second count and forgetting the whole world outside exists.

[Pyrrha had woken up in a sterile white room. Her memory was fuzzy. How had she gotten here? A flash of light and the memory of pain flashed before her mind, but that was all she could recall right now. She felt uneasy, like there was somewhere else she needed to be and something else she needed to be doing. Painfully, she sat up. Her arm twinged. There was a mark there like an I.V. had been put in. Heart fluttering, she made her way to the door. Towards the sounds of voices.]

[As she drew closer Pyrrha would be able to hear the conversation more clearly. It was Jaune and an older man that Pyrrha wouldn't really recognize.]
Young Man you need to go home and get some rest. Staying here isn't helping her or yourself. There is no telling when she will wake up.
[The man's concern was genuine and heartfelt. Jaune on the other hand would sound almost listless.]
I appreciate you being worried about me Doctor, but I'm not leaving this hospital without her. I promise I won't cause you any trouble.
[His tone turned bitter.]
The least I can do for her is make sure she's not alone.
[It would be up to Pyrrha if she opened the door and stepped all the way through. If she did she would find Jaune sitting at a seat right across from her room. Standing to his side was a middle-aged doctor still trying to convince him to get some rest. Pyrrha would have a few moments to say or do something before they noticed she had opened the door.]
no subject
Jaune?
[That was what she remembered. She remembered that she was trying to protect him. She couldn't remember it all, just that she had manged to send him away. She felt a huge surge of relief at seeing him. She had other questions of course, but they could wait. Right now this was enough.]
You...you're okay.
[Ironically, she was still behaving as if that was actually supposed to be her line. Se held onto the door frame, her legs were turning to jelly.]
Ms. Nikos, you shouldn't be trying to walk!
[Even as the doctor scolded her, she was thinking why? Why shouldn't she walk? It didn't matter. Jaune was safe.]

[Jaune's attention immediately snaps to Pyrrha as he heard her voice. A voice he had been thinking about ever since the fall of Beacon.
For a few moments he just stared in awe. A sense of relief washing over him as she was walking and talking.
After the shock of seeing her passed he immediately stood and rushed over to Pyrrha to bring her into a firm embrace. It was the type of embrace where it wasn't certain if he'd ever let go.]
I should be saying that to you. You're really...you're really okay now.
[His relief was absolutely clear to hear in his voice. Jaune was so scared he would never see her again. That his last memory of her would be being unable to save her.]
no subject
So it would see-ah!
[Her muscles seized and she suddenly felt like she was not going to be able to remain standing on her own. The doctor immediately began to scold.]
Ms. Nikos! Nurse, get wheel chair! Until we understand why you are not healing right, I really must insist you not exert yourself!
[The doctor then launched into some hurried explanation about the wound she had suffered from. From what she gathered it seemed to have compromised her aura.]
What do you mean not healing right? Aura doesn't just stop working. [For the first time Pyrrha looked concerned.]
no subject
Something happened when you went off to fight by yourself.
[He'd keep his own feelings on that to himself. What Pyrrha needed was answers. The few he could give anyway.]
There was a flash of light. That giant Grimm got frozen? but at the same time you got caught up in whatever it was.
Your Aura is still working on everything else, but those wounds aren't healing with your Aura for some reason. The doctors are still trying to figure out how that can be.

I don't remember a lot of what happened. [She admitted this a little helplessly. But she remembered the burning pain in her chest.]
She shot me didn't she? Cinder. My shield....wait. What did happen after Cinder shot me? Did she get away?!
[If this person had gotten away with the maiden's powers then it was her fault. She was supposed to be guarding those powers. She may have been torn about wanting them and selfishly a small part of her was glad. That did not mean she wanted someone like Cinder to have such a devastating weapon. What had she done?]
no subject
The memory loss wasn't totally unexpected. The doctors said it was possible with all the damage that happened. However he did flinch at her outburst.]
She got away, but she was caught up in whatever that light was too. I think she at least got it as bad as you. You and Ruby were unconscious right there when everybody found you.
[The unspoken thing was that if Cinder wasn't cripplingly injured Cinder would have killed them both right there.]
no subject
But was it ever meant to be her destiny? She had been hesitant from the start. Maybe that was why the mission had failed. Cinder hadn't hesitated.]
She's alive then. [Pyrrha sounded defeated.] There is no way that she would go down that easy. I could see it in her eyes. She was determined. Maybe that was the difference between us: she always knew who she was. I was scared and that's why I lost. I...failed humanity. All because I was afraid to change.
[Tears welled up in her eyes, though she tried to blink them away. She had no right to be crying.]
no subject
Doctor I know you got the nurse to get the wheelchair, but can I take Pyrrha back to her room? I don't think she's in any shape for a medical exam right now. Just...give me a little bit to talk to her. Okay?
[The doctor nodded. Jaune had more than proved his dedication to the young lady with how long he had been here. While her medical needs must be met there was a certain need for someone to be in the right emotional state for recovery. Especially when there would be some need of physical therapy in the future.
With the doctor's blessing Jaune carried her back to the room. He sat Pyrrha on the bed before kneeling in front of her and clasping her hands in his own.]
Pyrrha you didn't fail anybody. A lot of people would have been dead if you just let Cinder do whatever she wanted.
[Even if he didn't like this decision he knew she had done the right thing. He didn't understand everything she was talking about, but he knew that much at least.]
You did the best you could. There was that giant Grimm and whatever that was that Cinder was doing. You did everything you could, but fighting her alone like that I don't think it was possible.
[Of course no one had explained maidens to him at all.]
I've been thinking about what happened a lot, waiting for you to wake up.
[He held her hands tight, tears were in his eyes too.]
Whatever happened, Beacon isn't going to be the end of it. I'm not going to ask you to give up, but you're not doing this alone anymore and you need to get better first. I can be by your side if you'd let me.
no subject
It was supposed to be up to me. Cinder had already taken half of Amber's - the girl you saw in that basement - powers. I was supposed to prevent her from getting it all. It wasn't supposed to fall into that person's hands. I don't know everything that was going on but I'm very sure that the Professor would not have asked such a thing of me if Remnant were not in danger. And now, it's in danger anyway.
[She slumped. She knew it was prideful, but she was not used to letting people down. She always gave her best and it always paid off. ]
That wasn't how it was supposed to go. Now, I haven't helped anyone. Even if I get better, how can I possibly stop her now? How can I stop anyone with that kind of power?
[She found it hard to look at him.]
no subject
Pyrrha. You're trying to carry the whole world on your shoulders. It's not just you that will stop her.
It was you that taught me to accept other people's help. That trying to do things by myself was just stubbornness. Me, Ren and Nora we all want to help too. Not just us either. I've been talking to Ruby. She has a lead that we might find some answers at Haven.
[He squeezed her hands tight.]
Cinder can be stopped I'm sure of it, but no more running off by ourselves. We can do this as a team.
no subject
Haven?
[Even in her weakened state Pyrrha appeared to be thinking strategy. She didn't doubt they could make it. But she certainly couldn't let them do that alone. She had barely held Cinder off and she had been giving it her all.]
All right. I'll do everything I can to recover quickly then. She can't get away with this.
[She bit her lip for a moment, looking sheepish. It was as though with that settled, she could focus on things closer to home.]
Did you wait a long time for me to wake up?
[She had to admit that even though she was genuinely sorry for worry him, she did like that idea.]
no subject
[He had probably been the least damaged thanks to Pyrrha launching him out of the way, but he's pretty sure the panic took a few years off his life.]
I'll be here to help with anything you need too. They can use all the hands they can get anyway.
[Since the attack on Haven, Pyrrha certainly wasn't the only one in this hospital being treated for some serious injuries.
At her question he nervously rubs the back of his neck.]
Well at little while...okay it has been a few weeks.
[He smiled sheepishly, he'd become a regular fixture at the hospital and hadn't slept in a proper bed since this happened.]
no subject
I've met her Uncle. [She hesitated.] I'm sorry I didn't tell you any of this. Professor Ozpin seemed to think it best I didn't. I wonder if that's the one time I shouldn't have listened to a teacher. I'm...I'm really sorry. I should have told you all everything. I was just afraid. I never imagined some of the things I was told could be true. I didn't want you all to worry.
[She blinked and looked up.]
Weeks?! .........I suppose it makes sense. She shot me point blank. That should have killed me. I don't think Cinder wanted loose ends.
no subject
[He couldn't keep his distaste from showing. It was very squarely directed at Ozpin, but he cooled down.]
Alright we can talk about everything later when Ren and Nora are here too at least.
[Jaune wanted to make sure they did everything as a team from now on.]
Y-yeah there's actually this really nice inn that's been letting me grab a bath over there.
[It's actually been the only time he left the hospital, but he wasn't about to tell Pyrrha that.]
no subject
I just didn't know what the right path was and then Penny died and I just couldn't let yo- I mean, I couldn't let anyone end up that way.
[She looked at her lap.]
I just wanted to be powerful enough save everyone.
no subject
He moved to sit beside her, one of his hands holding one of Pyrrha's tightly like he never wanted to let go. Especially after that slip he definitely noticed now that he thought long and hard about that kiss. The last moments he thought he'd be spending with her.]
No one person's going to save the world. We can work together though.
[A beat.]
Right now though let's forget that. If it's really that important a secret it's probably not smart to talk about it here.
[After a moment he just couldn't contain himself anymore and wrapped his arms loosely around her so as to not hurt her.]
I'm so glad you're okay. I thought I lost you.
