Time will tell how much I love you

Time spent with the person you care the most for is a precious, invaluable thing. Most people take it for granted, though, as they can be with their beloved as much as they'd like. But not you. You and the one you love are kept apart - for whatever reason.

Today, though, you get a rare private moment with them. This is the first time in quite a while, and may be the last time in months, if not years. What do you do? Comfort each other? Hold each other tight? Have sex? Argue? The specifics are up to you; mix and match your canons, tag someone new to see how this stolen moment plays out.

It had been too long this time, Bucky thinks, but he knows that there's really not much they can do about it. Steve has things to take care of and Bucky's a wanted man and a potential danger to anyone if the wrong person gets the right passwords. He's about the only person who makes Steve look easy to hide and he would only get them all arrested.

So he waits in Wakanda and does his best to work on his recovery while Steve is out there fighting a good fight, even though it kills Bucky a little that he can't be the one to have Steve's back.

When he catches sight of Steve out on the road leading to the little house he's been living in, he keeps his walk casual, like he's not surprised and excited to see the man. It's been almost three months this time.

"You're late."

Steve smirks and can't hold back a goofy grin seeing Bucky for the first time in months. "Maybe you're just early." He says as he walks casually to Bucky. Three months was a long time to be gone. It was too long to be separated. Steve pulled Bucky into a tight hug.

The hug is warm and familiar and Bucky lets himself fall into it, wrapping both arms around Steve. At first, affection had felt so foreign after he'd gone so long without it. Now, he finds himself craving simple touches like this.

"Don't be a punk." His voice is too fond to even pretend to have heat behind it.

Steve chuckled and let himself just melt. Feeling this kind of warmth after so long just made his heart race. He breathed deeply the familiar scent of Bucky's musk. A scent that could never be replicated and always smelled like home. "God I missed you" he smiled.

"Missed you, too." Bucky turns his head, nose brushing Steve's jaw. Giving affection is getting easier, too, especially where Steve is concerned. One of his hands comes to rest at the small of Steve's back and he doesn't pull back yet. Who knows how long they'll have this time, but Bucky's going to make the most of it.

Steve smirks and pulls back a bit. Not too fast, and just slow enough to not break the tenderness of the moment. He let a smile creep to his lips as he pulled bBucky into a soft kiss, cupping his hand on Bucky's cheek.

Bucky lets his eyes close, savoring the moment as they kiss. He's missed this, dreamed about it more than a few times in Steve's absence.

"How long do I get you for this time?" His hand slides over Steve's hip, looking for a belt loop or strap he can anchor a finger into.

Steve smiled "I ship out next week." He was excited. It was longer than last time, but it's never long enough. He brushed Bucky's hair back and tucked it behind his ear. "Why don't I cook dinner tonight?"

"A whole week of Steve Rogers? Cooking? Keep that up and I'm going to get sick of you." But he will take the meal. Eating for one gets lonely and he doesn't bother to put too much effort into his own food when he's on his own.
