The HOLY GRAIL WAR Meme

Seven Masters, magi of the present day. Seven Servants, heroes of days past.One Holy Grail, granting whomever claims it a wish. Only one team of Master and Servant may claim it.
Who will it be?
For those unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero, you can find a better explanation of the Holy Grail War here.

Instructions
1. Comment with your character. In the subject line, put that character's name, canon, and which role (Master, Servant, or either) you would like them to fulfill. Add other preferences if you would like. (NOTE: If your character can fill the role of Servant, I suggest you state which class(es) -- Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, or Berserker -- they fall into.)
2. Reply to others' comments. Pick your character's role (and the other character's if they list "Either" as their preference), then use the RNG to pick a scenario that fits the two characters' roles.
3. Enjoy! Though there might be triggers, depending on how the prompts are interpreted.


TWO MASTERS

1. Battle. Who says that Servants get to have all the fun? After all, most Masters try to kill each other, too. Whatever the circumstances, the two of you are locked in a fight. Neither of you are willing to use your Command Spells just yet, so no Servants here. Just two magi duking it out.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. Protection. Uh-oh! One of you has lost your Servant! Unfortunately, there's no way you'd get to the church safely on your own, so the other one will help you get there! Or maybe you don't trust the priest presiding over the Holy Grail War and are giving shelter to them yourself? Given their track record, no one would blame you.

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. You, Too? Surprise! You may have been friends before, but you've just discovered that you're both Masters! How will you handle this revelation?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


MASTER AND SERVANT

1. Are You My Master? The summoning is complete. Whether intentional or not, catalyst or not, a magus has summoned a Servant. What kind of meeting was it? Was everything totally under control, or did a hitch occur? Or maybe it happened in the middle of a life-or-death situation!

2. Identity. Either the Servant has flat out told the Master their identity, or they unleashed their Noble Phantasm. Either way, the cat is out of the bag. How will the Master react, now that they know their Servant's name and legend? Will anything change between the two?

3. Battle Aftermath. A battle has just ended. Who participated? Are either of you hurt? Did the Master have to use a Command Spell? Any number of things could have happened here.

4. Discord. Uh-oh. It looks like the Master and the Servant don't get along. Here come the arguments! Don't do something stupid, like waste a Command Spell over a triviality...

5. Love. And then, there's the opposite. Sometimes Masters and Servants fall in love with each other. How will this affect things?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


TWO SERVANTS

1. Battle. This is what usually happens when two Servants meet -- they duke it out. This probably says enough as it is.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. The Grail Dialogues. Maybe you're not interested in fighting just yet. Maybe you just want to sit down and talk with the other Servant. Find out what they want, what makes them tick. Get some wine while you're at it -- nothing like good wine to go with good talk!

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying...again. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in this War in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. Identity. Congratulations, you've just learned each other's identities! Will this change the situation, or will you press onward?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

[[This is the meme I've been waiting for, since the Master/Servant relationship actually has a bit in common with her canon. Details available on request, but in short, both Pyra and Mythra are orthodox Sabers in their own right (as if the swords weren't a clue), or Mythra could be one of those off-class Archers because of how she uses her weapons. While I'm happy to play one or the other, canonically they share a body and switch back and forth if you want to include that, and the also have a couple of other XC2-spoiler functions that could be interesting in a Grail War context.

Courtney has no actual stake in the religious aspect of her job but she is the best qualified master of the entire group, so they selected her to participate in the war and take the grail for their cause. She's agreeable to it solely because she's super loyal to her organisation's leader and acts like Nothing Else Matters and She Is Only A Tool To Be Used By Her Leader etc etc.]

[There's an anomaly afoot. Anomalous enemy Servant, to be exact, to such an extent that even the exact class of it remains a mystery presently, too hard to tell from observations made so far. ...Since most of the people recently sent to try observing it hadn't...survived long enough to actually report back with the findings. Quite unfortunate. But at least one thing's certain, if only by extrapolation: it's a pretty powerful Servant, and it's going to take more than one party to bring it down, if anybody wants to have a proper war without getting individually wiped off the table by this new left-field contender.

A temporary alliance has been in order.

The brief pairing of Plasma and Magma organizations currently is an extremely new one, likely brought about by a series of convoluted circumstances and meetings timed just right. Doubtlessly it'll be back to rivalry as soon as this weird situation is taken care of, and the atmosphere is suitably a little awkward to match, but here they all are coexisting in the same building for at least a little while. Closer to the city outskirts, but not so far out as to be vulnerable to the mysteriously dangerous Servant allegedly still roaming around somewhere out there. A nice facility, currently well-defended between the two mage coalitions taking residence now; a breathing space for shop to be set up and plans to be made before the resident allied Masters set out to properly solve their mutual problem.

That's today. ...But that's also in a few hours. For now it's early in the morning, and few people are up yet, but there's a couple. Colress approaches Courtney with a pleasant smile and a cup of coffee in each hand, as if he isn't the (apparent) leader of Plasma and isn't going to be joining a very risky excursion into unknown enemy Servant waters by lunchtime.]

For saber prompt I am totally open to anything except romance options, but I'd really like to try playing out a scenario that goes like this.

- kills your servant early on
- has her own master killed later
- you both run into each other and form an awkward contract for survival

bonus points if the master offers, but I can work her into initiating it need be.

As for Master her AU is she's a human who was born to act as an eventual host for Altera/The white titan/whatever and her dad is probably part of some doomsday cult working towards its summoning through the use of the grail, so she was raised from birth to Prepare for this. This might not make a lot of sense but I haven't thought too hard about it so we're playin' fast and loose with this shit.]

Two Servants | 2ish and 3ish

[The Counter Force has a funny way of picking and choosing its agents.

Archer doesn't look especially heroic for a Servant. She would have blended in with civilians easily, but there's no hiding her nature from other Spirits even if she keeps to herself and obeys her Master with little disobedience during this particular War. In this case, though, she's questioning the wisdom of this particular alliance.

Assassin. The class consisting of mostly professional killers. There's something distasteful that the Archer Servant, Asagami Fujino, finds about it, but that's probably just calling the kettle black and there's not much she can do if the Master wants to have an alliance with this Servant for the time being. There is a myriad of creatures ranging from tentacled Fiends to imperfect and hideous homunculi that roam the streets of the city that need to be cleared out and more importantly, they need to find the source that keeps spawning these monsters.

Archer walks steadily through a dark alleyway during one of these hunts, an arm wrapped around her side the whole time. Her face is expressionless, but her tone of voice is not as she speaks up loud enough for the other Servant to hear.]

Not that I was hiding it in the first place, but I think it's only polite if I make myself clear.

Which is why it's odd that the Servant Sakura manages to summon should be so familiar. Barring rare exceptions, everyone that is recorded in the Throne is already dead. They must be.

Her hair isn't deep blue, it isn't even the pale blue it became after she changed, but it's a pure white. Colourless. Empty. Devoid of anything.

[This shouldn't have happened. Reika Rikudou was no magus of any capacity. She had no magic circuits, no ability to summon a Servant of her own. Sagara Hyouma, her 'boyfriend', was. By all means Assassin should have been his Servant.

Destiny doesn't often follow 'should haves' and 'should not's. Reika was allowed to live for another day. That was enough for her. She wasn't someone to dwell on consquences, after all. Hyouma had betrayed her trust and, well, if she couldn't provide the energy for Assassin...

Sagara Hyouma wasn't someone anyone would miss, even among his magus allies. However, his energy wouldn't last forever. They needed a plan.]

She still didn't know why she'd want the Grail but the chance to live yet a few more days seemed like a good enough reason to pursue it.]
