[It had ended up being mid-September by the time Shelby came back to Los Angeles. Five months since she'd seen Mario, and they hadn't hardly talked since then either. That was her fault with work; once she was focused on the job she tuned out everyone and everything else. It was how she operated.

But when she did come back to town, she had called him hoping he'd still remember her. Asking him to meet her at a house downtown, and just praying he'd show up and hadn't moved on before they could even start. Now she just waited for him to get there trying not to think about him naked.]
