[Normally, Saiki comes to these coffee shops to have a cup of lightly sweetened coffee and gorge on coffee jelly but... Two things have been bothering him about the man at the table next to him.

The most important factor being that monstrosity he'd ordered. He'd heard him place the order, heard the barista's doubts and thoughts and really couldn't blame her for thinking the man crazy, because there is so much wrong with having that many different flavors all in one cup.

The second, and you'd think it'd be the more important fact, being that for some unfathomable reason, he can't read the man's mind. It's unnerving, and neither of his usual reasons for not being able to get a read on people are out the window. For starters, he's not a bug. And secondly, the book he's reading shows he's not like Nendo who's just so stupid there's nothing there to read.

For a moment, Saiki debates even trying to speak to him, because if he can't read his mind, maybe his telepathy can't reach him either? Or, worse, he can't glamour the guy's mind into thinking he's speaking normally instead of in his head. But. He has to know.]

Can you even taste anything with that many flavors mixed together? Seems like a waste.

sometimes she actually left the office for her coffee, always coming to the same coffee shop. her order was always the same, something that might normally be a little too sweet, and for the twenty minutes that she sat there, it was peaceful.

though her visits were infrequent she recognised the baristas (a habit). she never talked to them outside of ordering her drink, just wanting that twenty minutes of peace. this time was different, with some kind of commotion happening just outside of the doorway, getting her to call one over )
