Au 5, situation 1

Charlie was pretty good at avoiding most of the students at the school. She didn’t want friends. She didn’t want to get to know people. What she wanted was to keep people safe by keeping to herself. She has no experience with whether or not this works, honestly, but she’s hopeful for the first few weeks. But then, loneliness starts to set in and she realizes she’s forgetting what being around people feels like. So at true advice of a teacher or two, she seeks out the sole student in the building whose abilities match her own.

This proves to be a very strange situation, because the closer she gets to the guy in the living room playing Uncharted on the PlayStation, the more of a pull she feels. A familiar crawl under her skin, a feeling of intense and tangible he’s not unlike fire. But it wasn’t her fire she was picking up and honestly, she felt a bit terrified. Standing a good five feet away, she tries to convince herself that it’s just her nerves and she’s being weird, but that odd pull has her almost entirely silenced.

“You missed a treasure. Back there behind the broken column.” That was the best she could stutter out after looking from John to the TV. That pull has her muddled and unsure of what to even do right now.

He must be in the right place because his coyote tattoo keeps itching. He's working at a garage in Beacon Hills when he spies her. The blue jeep he's working on is in pretty decent shape, but he ignores it in favor of watching her move.

[ Living in a black and white world was rather pleasant and convenient for Niles. While everyone was waiting for the day they'd be able to see the vivid colors, he was alright with his current state, to be quite honest.

He often heard people fantasizing about the first meeting with a soulmate. It made him laugh more than anything else and never hid that.

Actually, he found it hard to believe that there's someone out there who is his significant other. Whoever they were, Niles felt sorry for them. Life taught him to care for himself first and foremost, not for some other person. At this point, he's not quite sure how meeting the supposed soulmate will change his way of thinking. He might find out about that sooner rather than later, though.

One day, while walking across a busy street, Niles stops mid-step after noticing a blond guy. It takes a while for his mind to register that he can see not only his hair color but also the colors of his clothes. ]

...What the hell?

[ Niles blinks once. Twice. Then he closes his eyes and sighs, looking up at the sky. It's not black and white anymore and he doesn't really know how to feel about it just yet. ]
