Sometimes all you need is a word to spark off an idea.

[There's a battle happening, somewhere. He gets flashes of it every once in a while, pops of color that puncture the dizzy blue non space of...whatever this place is. The place between worlds? He'd heard someone call it that, but he doesn't remember who anymore.

Kon sighs to himself (because who else would he be sighing to?) and tries to catch glimpses of the battle that's happening in another place and another time but also right now. It's important. Like, really important. His existence is contingent on it, though he isn't sure how. He doesn't even really know who's fighting or who has to win for him to keep going. (and if keeping going means staying here, well. He isn't sure he wants them to win anyway.)]

No big deal, dude. Just another weird non day in weird blue eternity. [He kind of wishes he could sleep, but he can't, he's tried. He's just been awake for...well, he doesn't know. Time is all...non existent? He doesn't know, but it's been forever. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so damn bored.]

Y'know, if this is some kinda punishment for something I did, I feel like I at least got the right to know what it was! [The nothing echoes back at him and he scowls. It's not like he expected different. With another sigh, Kon flops onto his back in the air, hovering there in non space (and completely missing the large crack in the non space that's bigger than usual, delivering a person straight into his non room.)]

I mean, can't a guy even get cable or something?

so daud's an assassin who kills an empress and eventually decides he doesn't want to be an assassin anymore but is not super great at leading any other life. i'm very much open to cross-canon, aus, and most canon points.
