𝔬𝔫𝔠𝔢, further back in years than anyone alive could remember, there is a land that even time has forgotten, filled to the brim with magic and mystery both good and ill. This is where you make your home. Who you are in this kingdom - or many kingdoms - is as varied as the blades of grass that spread over this lush terrain. You could be a petulant princess, a delving dwarf, a highway man with more than a few secrets, a devoted knight, a mage of ancient spellcraft, or even an ageless elf. No matter your station, though, one thing is for certain: whatever life you lead, it's about to get a great deal more exciting. There is a war brewing, somehow, somewhere, and the peace of your homelands is at stake. You are the only one who can set things right and go on a quest to save everyone.
Still, what is an adventure without an adventure of the heart? You are not alone, and you'll find that trying times can forge ironclad emotions. Of course, you'll find that the path of love is no easier here than anywhere else, be the person you admire an arranged fiancé you're not too fond of at first, a forbidden object of desire, a traveling companion, an enemy, a lifelong friend, an ally...or another species from you entirely. Yet, in any case, this is no time for romance, is it? Only moments can be stolen, and you must set aside your feelings for the greater good.
In this time, in this place, will you get your happy ending, or will this story prove to be a much darker fantasy?

However she mustn't be seen or caught. Each time she hears approaching footsteps, she ducks into an alcove and holds her breath. When the danger has passed, she resumes her position, tilting her head and standing on her tiptoes to catch sight of him.
It is when the rather solemn group of Elves leaves the room for some fresh air that she strikes. Quick as the wind, she wraps her arms around Aragorn's waist and whispers "Come with me" into his ear. Surely he will not hesitate?]

He does his very best to pay strict attention to all the meetings he's subjected to, but some are always more long-winded than others. Finally his latest guests take a breather, which also gives him the chance to close his eyes and take a deep breath of his own.
Only registering familiar arms and precious voice in his ear keeps him from striking or any sudden move. He grins and runs on soft feet with her.
Only when they're 'safe' does he laugh softly and pull her close.}
Always.
she's a thief!
You work too hard! I was afraid you would forget how to smile.
[Arwen plants herself in his arms and rests her cheek against his chest.]
Life shouldn't always be so serious.
The best thief!

The fight was all her fault. She knows that.
Mistress has always told her never to ask about the outside. Never to ask about finding the parents who abandoned her. Never to be ungrateful. But she was today. Very. She made Mistress raise her voice and get so angry, before looking so bad and making Joan feel incredibly guilty for bringing it up. So now she's baking some cupcakes as an apology.
She can bake, she can sew, she can paint, she can do all sorts. Mistress has never denied her anything in her little tower - except the outside. But outside was dangerous and full of nasty people that wanted to hurt her. Especially when they saw what her hair could do. Because apparently not everyone has magical hair that glows when she sings and can heal any wound, even age. Hair that must never be cut, which is why she's trying not to trip over it as she moves to pour the batter into the tray, to put in the oven.
No, Mistress keeps her safe. She knows that. She needs to stop...dreaming of what might be out there. Stop being ungrateful.

Fingerless, rejected gloves protect her palms as she climbs. She reaches the window and peers over, hearing what sounds like singing... the sweet smell must be baking cakes.

I walked with you once upon a-"
Joan sings as she puts the cake in the oven, hoping her magic can somehow help the taste as it does with healing wounds.
There's a chirp from her pet sparrow and She turns.
"Mistress?" Is she back so soon?
Then she sees the face at the window. Not...Mistress...
She screams.

So there's a girl in this tower about her age making delicious cakes ... and screaming?
