we all have bad dreams, sometimes. luckily, you have someone there when you wake up to help you calm down.

[Henry's had plenty of nightmares but not much comfort. On the other hand their experience makes them better at comforting others. Or Henry can kill a songbird for a hex that causes dreamless sleep!]

[Even in his dreams, Dyluck's luck with avoiding the sort with dark magic used with infernal intent has always been on the bad side. When he arrived, uncertain if he was alive or dead at first, Henry had put him straight. Sure, Henry had seemed a little weird to him, but their often-happy demeanor no matter what often reminded him of a dog (in a good way, he'd argue, but most people would have been offended with such a thing.)

[Tonight is no different. He wakes with a start and immediately his feet guide him to Henry's tent, inviting himself in with barely a sound nor a rap on the cloth door.

[After what separated him permanently from his lover, Purim, he no longer wanted to be so hesitant, nor the "good soldier" he'd been known as, but as a young man with needs he wished to have met. If only first and foremost during times like this.

[And so, with nary a word, regardless of whether or not Henry wakes up, he sits himself down against Henry's cot, and simply takes comfort in their presence alone. As often happens, his fluffy hair is in easy reach of petting; Henry likes animals, and, frankly, it's kind of nice to have his hair pet like one.

[Either way, he knows he's safe here. Henry is someone who wouldn't hurt him badly with their dark magic beyond something silly, or at least, nothing so nefarious as trying to steal his soul and use his body as a vessel for an eldritch incarnate.

[...Right. Technically, he's dead in his world (though alive - flesh and blood and spirit - here.) His soul barely survived, and his body certainly did not. But in this world, even though he can never say hello to Purim again, he still takes comfort in the fact that she's survived her battles. She'll survive without him, no matter how painful it is for the both of them.

[Dreams like that often make him reflect on all of that, and, with a slight glance Henry's way, he seeks to meet their gaze, if they've even woken up at all.]

It's hard enough to sleep without a bed, sometimes slipping off the clothes laid out on the ground and into the sand. Certainly, the nightmares don't make anything easier...and Lydia isn't even the one having them. It's been a few nights in a row, now, and Lydia's crossed the line from sympathetic to concerned.

She can't really tell what he's dreaming by the mumbles and upset sounds he's making, but whatever it is, it clearly upsets him. So while Lydia doesn't much like to wake someone else, especially if the dream is lucid enough that it might be even more frightening to be yanked unceremoniously out of it, all the same, Lydia slides a hand gently up his torso and rubs his chest. She pushes herself up on one elbow and her hair gets thrown over her shoulder with a toss of her head before she starts to whisper softly, increasing her volume a little bit with each repetition of his name.

Hopefully the soothing motion on his chest will help him from startling too severely awake. "Tony...wake up. Hey, Tony..."

It had been a long time since he had nightmares about the battlefield. For all his talk about wanting to become a hero, it was never an easy feat to achieve when war was involved. Genesis never gave up on the goal, but it didn't mean he was immune to its effects. And, it was with fumbling fingers that he was texting Angeal.

I can't breathe

He dropped the phone soon after and simply held his head in his hands, resting his forehead on his knees to struggle with the simple act of breathing.

It had been a long time since he'd had a nightmare about the battlefield, and even longer since experiencing the panic attacks that came with them.

What was that? Black mass, slowly crawling and covering everything in its path, devouring the animals, plants, and stone.

Rubbing his hands up and down his upper arms briefly, he slowly slipped out of the bed in the trailer camp and sneaked out, making sure not to wake anyone up.

The trouble with new Grey Wardens--well, one trouble with new Gray Wardens--is the way everything from flesh to whatever exactly constitutes a soul rejects the taint from the first. And Alim doesn't feel up to dealing with it. He hardly feels like he knows what he's doing with his own creeping, hideous dreams seeping up from the dark, and somehow he's the only one with a hope of managing its effects on all the other new meat? Admittedly, some of the poor bastards take it better than others. He just sort of kicked Oghren a couple times in the shoulder last time there was a dust up, and Nathaniel's not going to admit he has feelings about anything, which is sort of freeing.

But he can't wash his hands of everyone (literally, in Ogrhen's case), moreso when some of the nightmares they might have in common have nothing to do with swilling darkspawn blood. When one of his own insomniac wanderings brings him past Anders' door, it's actually the cat he hears. Ser Pounce-a-lot apparently objects to distress in his favorite human, and expresses that by whining, apparently. It's helpful. Real nightmares don't usually come with a lot of dramatics. Especially not when you grew up in crowded dormitories where drawing attention of any kind was a bad idea. Habit.

Not sure an intrusion will be welcome but not wanting to leave anyone to dreams of darkspawn (or templars, really), he decides to risk it and taps on the door. If nothing else, he should let the cat out.
