Asgard was frozen.

He had long become adapted to the idea that he was not one of them. The wounds of the past scaring over in to something truly heinous. Whatever Loki was, whatever he once meant to Asgard, to their friends, to Thor, he truly was no longer. Mad for power. Deceitful, lying, tricking, horrible creation and some deep part of himself basked in it. It was so sickeningly sweet. He had long since stopped crying over his differences, wondering why he were made of such wickedness, aching to change and do good. No, Loki was beyond that now. He had embraced it. He had embraced every horrible inch of himself, the ugly brutality of his Jotun heritage, the disgusting truth of his lies.

This is who and what he is, his identity. Loki the Destroyer.

What had he done? He went to Jotunheim. He lied, oh he did lie. Lied that it were Thor who aimed to destroy them all those years ago, it were Thor who killed their King. He sympathized and blinded them in to learning their crafts, their secrets, how to better use what was naturally his. Frost and ice and all things dead cold.

A hand traced the face of a woman he used to know now so thoroughly frozen to the bone. He knew that Thor was watching, near the thread of exhaustion. And he did kill her. So easy, so fragile in ice. So simple to shatter it right down until she was nothing.

Like he was nothing.

Like this realm would be nothing. He would raze it to the ground. There were plenty Jotun dead, scattered across the ground as much as Aesir. Loki cared not. He had no need or reason to affiliate with either side. A means to an end, that was all.
