Even if you've had sex before, this phrasing has a certain connotation to it that it'd be impossible to miss. It's not just physical pleasure; they're serious. They want to be something with you. Is that what you want? Can you give them that?

If you've not had sex, the words are even weightier.No one could blame you for getting nervous or excited. Are you ready for all of this - emotionally and physically? Will you take it slow, jump right in...or not take it anywhere at all?

They're dating. It's just that it's their version of dating.

Dates are, as often as not, morphed out of other things. Now and again, time is set aside for a 'date' which winds up with the pair of them simply curled up quietly on the couch, listening to one another breathe. There aren't flowers in either direction. The love notes tend to be of a practical bent, affectionate and warm in the fretful concern they indicate. The surest sign of devotion tends to be the careful, clinical manner in which their arguments stay shy of actually fighting.

It makes them happy. It warms something in them, and leaves them both grinning at the end of long days to have the other to reach for.

They're physical. It's just that it's their version of physical.

Little touches are easy. Little kisses are becoming easy. Long moments lingering together, clinging and gasping and wanting, are still a bit of an up and down. Tangling up in bed still comes with the edge of being slightly unsettled--wonderful and wanted and still sometimes needing to be snatched to a quick close.

Grantaire asks, some of the time, gentle and sweet and without expectation. Enjolras asks, much less frequently, but almost always expecting the same goofy grin and eager wolfish kiss in response. That's what he's expecting tonight, lips pressing against the shell of the artist's ear from behind. "Hey. We could fool around."

Every second they have is nothing short of a blessing. Every moment of simply being certain that Susan Pevensie still walks on Narnian ground is more than Caspian feels he can properly deserve. Every heartbeat seeing her gentle expression, close at hand or sidelong from afar, is beyond what he could ever have imagined being given.

And even now, even this certain of their twined fates, every single touch is a new miracle.

An afternoon together, at least, bleeds into a single continuous joy. Caspian feels the same awe lying beside Susan on the beach that he had felt when they first stepped out of the Cair, respectfully held apart. Running his fingers along her spine brings the same thrill as covering her lips with a kiss, an echo of the same thrill he had felt when she told him they would have some time to themselves.

In the headiness of so long a stretch of bliss, his tongue finds itself briefly bold--or, at any rate, bold enough while his face can be ducked to hide against his wife's neck. "Make-- love to me, Susan. Just here. Please?"
