The two of you love each other, and certainly romantically - or at least you're working on realizing that - and you're...not sexually intimate, or not in the way many would suspect. You're not ready for that yet, you're following the rules of you're society, you want them to know how serious you are, you're too busy or uninterested, you don't want to "dishonor" them in any way, or that's simply how both of you are comfortable: there are a number of reasons why you'd choose a romance of chastity, and none of them make the feelings between you any less valid. Of course, no sexual intimacy doesn't mean no intimacy at all. Holding hands, resting of heads on shoulders, touching, kissing on other places than the mouth, spending time together, confessions, or giving gifts can show your emotions towards each other just as easily. You may only want to do these things away from the prying eyes of others, however. And, understandably, you might want to take those milestones slowly and carefully, the same way your relationship has blossomed. ...especially for confessions. For the type of love you two share, you don't want to admit to anything too idly. How to Play I wanted to make a meme like this because I thought the idea was darling and fresh, and it could apply to so many types of characters! It's the bread and butter for fantasy types, would be good for kids and the younger character sets, and despite how "badass" they are, it's pretty much shounen idiots to a T. There's very little romance proper in those canons, and it's all understated and unspoken if it's there at all. [Rey doesn't have an easy time fitting into Xavier's School, not that she particularly cares for fitting in. She's still getting used to the luxury of it all. She has a bedroom, not just a niche in a mostly-covered alleyway on a rainy night. Somehow, all of that freedom to relax feels a little suffocating, especially when she's surrounded by so many people who look at her as a person rather than make every effort to ignore the homeless freak loitering in the street.

But just because people look at her doesn't mean they talk to her. At least, not most of them. There's one that pops in from time to time - literally - and while she doesn't know how he always manages to find her, Rey finds that she doesn't much mind his company.

That's even true now, while she's under the hood of Scott's convertible and fiddling with the engine despite knowing as well as anyone else that no one was to touch Summers' precious car. She doesn't have to look up to know who it is that's suddenly appeared behind her, and that can well be either because she's sensed him or because his entrance isn't exactly subtle; either way, she decides to speak up before he can jokingly chastise her.]

You're not going to tell on me for making his pride and joy better than it has any reason to be, are you?

[Life at the mansion has helped Kurt's outgoing nature to flourish, as he can just be himself without worrying about being judged for his appearance or for being a mutant. He's eager to be as welcoming as possible to new students. It's the least he can do after he was taken in here with open arms. But even aside from being welcoming, he found himself eager to spend time with this one pretty newcomer.

He was starting to feel like he had a sixth sense for finding her, as he managed to successfully teleport right where she was hard at work. That sure is Scott's car she's working on. Scott might be upset by this sight, but Kurt doesn't particularly mind - he knows that whatever she's doing can't be malicious. He wants to make some kind of a snarky comment, only for her to beat him in the punch. So he crosses his arms as he goes on teasingly.]

I dunno... What's in it for me? [Even as he tries to tease, his smile probably looks more sincere than he intends as he looks at her.]

It's been almost two weeks since Barry's heat when Len, aka Captain Cold, spent five days staying in Barry's house looking after him while Barry sweated out his heat. Barry was eternally grateful for his help, even if he was still unsure about the entire thing. Len being around had awakened desires in Barry that he really hadn't thought about in years...ever since he realized Iris would never love him like he once loved her.

Barry had spent the first day after his heat slowly cleaning everything up. He washed his sheets, cleaned up his room of the trash from the food and empty water bottles. He straightened up his house, went to the store for some weekly groceries, and came home. When he was all finished with his chores he'd relaxed on the couch and before he realized it he was burying his face in the pillows inhaling Len's scent. It was comforting, even if he didn't realize exactly what he was doing.

It took three days for Barry to realize Len's parka was in the hall closet. At first he wanted to text the rogue and tell him he forgot it, but he found himself pulling it out and slipping it on, wrapping it tight around his body. The next thing he knew he was sleeping with it because it smelled so good. It made him feel safe. Quickly it became a part of his routine even though it was warm out. When he got home he would slip the parka on and just breathe in the older mans soothing scent. At night he would curl up in bed using it as a blanket sleeping better than he had in his entire life.

It was five days after his heat ended and Len left that the first package appeared on his door step. Confused, Barry had taken it inside and hesitantly opened it. It was a gift...from Len. Why was Len sending him gifts? If Barry had paid better attention in school during health class, or if Joe had actually managed to talk to him about this old custom, Barry would have realized Len was trying to court him. As it was Barry had no idea and simply couldn't figure out why he was sending him something. But it was so thoughtful, high calorie snacks and bars for heat. He found himself smiling and his heart did a little thump-thump of happiness. Before he could do too much more than send a quick thank you text, he found himself called away on Flash business and the whole thing was pushed to the back burner.

Then of course the second gift had arrived much like the first a week later. This time a box of books all different kinds of sci-fi and fantasy novels. Old ones. Things Barry was sure he would enjoy reading as he perused the titles. Now he really was confused. Once was a fluke..twice was a pattern. And if he really thought about it he would realize it was actually the third gift. The parka was the first. He pulled out his cell phone and sent the Rogue a text. 'Thank you for the gifts...why are you sending them?'

Len has to resist the urge to bash his head against something when he reads the text. He would have figured by now Barry would have understood what was going on. The box of food was supposed to symbolize how well Len understood Barry's physical needs. The parka was to spread his scent and to leave Barry with a comfort object and the books were to symbolized that Len understood Barry's emotional needs and his likes or dislikes. It should have been clear as crystal what he wanted. And yet here he was faltering as he was faced with a Omega with no idea what was going on.

It was driving him slightly insane, because the next traditional courting gift was something for the Omega's friends and family to make it clear Len wanted their approval when he was at Barry's next heat. And if Barry couldn't warn them it was coming well....things could implode. Barry was surrounded by Alphas who wouldn't hesitate to go after Len if they didn't want him near Barry. He considers how to answer the text and simply says. "You'll see," in reply because one of those Alphas was about to hit Barry with the clue bus pretty hard.

The next day at STAR Labs the entire lab is spotless and the security system has been upgraded to the point it will actually be useful now. A simple note is on the console and it says "you're welcome."

Barry looks down at the text Len sent him. "You'll see." What the hell does that even mean?! He scoffs in frustration and then looks back down at the box of books and smiles. It really was a thoughtful gift. He got up, made some tea, and spent the rest of the evening reading a few of them.

The next morning he ran into STAR Labs to see Cisco, Caitlin, Harry, Iris and Cecile standing around looking at him in both surprise and shock.

"So...any idea what this means?" Cisco asks holding up a note with the words 'You're welcome." Written on it in very familiar hand writing.

"Uh?" Barry stammers in shock and surprise.

"Apparently someone broke in last night and upgraded all of our security...and cleaned EVERYTHING." Harry says. "While I was still here I might add, and had no idea someone was even here. Thought's Barry?"

"Well...umm...maybe it was...um?"

"Was it him?" Iris asks point blank. Iris was the only person Barry had told everything too. She had a smirk...a knowing smirk...and it worried him.'

"Well...that's his handwriting.." Barry admits blushing scarlet and running a nervous hand through his hair.

"Him? Him who?" Cisco asks confused.

"The 'him' Barry's been smelling like for almost three weeks." Harry murmurs from the back of the room where he's now fiddling with something.

"Wait what?!" Cisco and Barry exclaim at the same time causing Caitlin and Iris to laugh. Even Cecile gave a little chuckle.

"Barry....sweetheart, you got an alpha courting you and you don't even realize it...do you?" Cecile asks him in her motherly voice...and there's also a hint of teasing in there.

"THANK YOU!" Harry calls because finally someone SAID it!

"Wha? Courting?!" Barry is just so confused now.

"Oh honey..." Cecile laughs kindly and reaches out for his arm. "Come on, we're gonna have a little chat. Iris you come too."

Three hours later Barry is more embarrassed and yet relieved and even more confused than before.

"Are you...courting me?" Barry sends in a text to Len, almost afraid to know the answer. He's certain he's reading into things...that he's going to be rejected.

Len makes a mental note to give a special thank you gift to all the Alphas Barry deals with on a daily basis because dammit those people are saints. "Yes," he texted back trying not to laugh as he types. "Shoot me if I'm doing it old school, but my dad did one thing right when he told us how to find our mates right. I wasn't just about to take you with all the Alphas around you. That would have been well someone would have been dead and I like waking up every day not in jail."
