My sun and stars, then you will return to me

The premise of the meme is simple. Two characters, lovers, have been separated for a time. How long is up to you, as is the reason for the separation. Was it unwilling - an imprisonment, a required journey - or because of a choice one of the characters made? The reason may, of course, color the reunion, and somebody may be pretty miffed, with good reason. Still, the theme is the same: intimacy after being apart.
This meme is mostly geared towards being a smut meme, but nobody will judge you for just doing so heavy fluff.

[It was precisely that thought process she wanted to avoid. For Taichi to think he had failed. For him to feel guilty about failing. Because, in her mind, he didn't fail at all. How was he supposed to know? None of them were mind readers--no, not even she--and the truth of it was, even Takeru would never have known if he hadn't caught her disappearing in class that day.]

I know. [She looked up at him.] The same goes for you too, Oniichan. If it tries to take you again, you have Yamato and Agumon. And me.

[A pause, and she seemed hesitate to ask the question on her mind.]

You don't...still feel it calling to you now, do you?

[None of them were mind readers, but it still didn't stop Takeru from giving him a short glare on that day after being told about what happened with a short account. He would never get over seeing that sweet kid giving him that kind of lok.

He nods.]

Yeah, and knowing you guys, you won't let me go without a fight.

[At the question, his hand tightens around his crepe, staring at a couple of children running by, laughing.]

No. [It's an honest answer.] Not really. I haven't felt a pull from it, anyway.

...What about you?

[It wasn't something she liked to talk about. Or wanted to, really, for several reasons. Some of which were precisely the motivation behind Takeru's heated glare that day.]

[...at the same time, however, Taichi was asking her directly, and she couldn't lie.]

I have.

[The short version.]

It's always in the back of my mind, though most of the time I can ignore it.

When I thought you...when we all saw you fall...I don't remember exactly what happened, but I know the pull felt as strong as it did the first time it took me. Or at least, it was something that felt like the pull.

I...wondered why it did't take me then. Maybe it's because Takeru was with me. [It wouldn't have been the first time he'd stopped her from disappearing.] Or maybe it just didn't want me anymore. Since it had you.

[Or maybe that "pull" had been something else altogether.]

[So, it's still haunting her.

Taichi continues to watch the children, making a mental note to thank Takeru for being there for his sister when he couldn't. But then again, Takeru and Hikari have always been close, haven't they? They're always together, too.]

I don't think it stopped just because it had me.

[He's not like Hikari, who's special. Her Crest of Light being a desired power from many, and Taichi--Taichi isn't special like that.

He suspects there's something more, but he doesn't continue to push.]

[Whether there was something more or not, Hikari didn't seem ready to volunteer anytime soon.]

[In fact, after a lengthy pause, she lifted up her head and took another bite of crepe. Letting out an approving hum and smiling. Widely. Perhaps a little too widely to feel entirely real.]

These crepes really are good, aren't they?

What do you think we should do next when we're done eating?

[A notable shift in atmosphere. Once more, brushing all thought of the Dark Ocean to the back of her mind so she could focus on the present.]

Movies.

[He allows the topic change, welcoming it even.

Taichi looks over at her, smiling.]

And probably ignore our friends for the rest of the day. Don't need them calling us and try to meet up for something.

[Today's just meant for the two of them, after all.]

Still determined to find something with action in it?

[Recalling their previous conversation. It seemed the change in subject was accepted, and as a show of subtle gratitude for that, she even reached for her phone with one hand, flipping it open and making a show of turning it to silent.]

[She very nearly turned it off altogether, but...something told her that probably wasn't the smartest idea. Just in case.]

There. No more texts or phone calls.

They'll have to wait their turn.

You know it!

[Freedom.

Taichi grins.]

Awesome. Now it's just you and me for the rest of the day.

Sounds great!

[She celebrated with another bite of her crepe. It really was good. Just the right amount of sweetness, and the cream was so fresh she suspected it might have been made right there in the vending truck. Taichi was right about the fact that she could have easily finished it if she wanted to...]

[But as time passed, and they continued their leisure stroll around the outskirts of the park, enjoying the rare breeze as it blew through some of the open space and through the trees, she seemed to slow in her bites. Waiting until she noticed Taichi had finished his before holding out the last part of hers.]

Did you still want to try? I'm done.

[He snorts in disbelief, but does take the crepe.]

You know as well as I do that you're not really done yet.

[Hikari does enjoy her sweets, after all, but he finishes it all. It's good - no wonder Hikari seemed to enjoy hers so much.]

Mm, it's pretty good.

[Busted. Oops.]

[Letting out a small giggle, Hikari stepped up her pace and didn't bother waiting for Taichi to match it. The park was left behind as she headed for one of the local theaters. It was a pretty nice place. The entire first floor was the refreshments area and box office, and she could smell the popcorn even before they went inside. Stopping to see what posters were hanging in advertisement.]

Let's see...

[She recognized both movies she'd seen earlier that week, even though the one she and Takeru went to was in a different neighborhood. As for choices of action films...]

There's that one Samurai film....that one's a tokusatsu superhero film, I think. A remake. It only just came out.

I think one of the animes showing is action, but I'm not sure.

[Taichi snickers and quickly follows her. It doesn't take long to catch up to her, but is content on lagging behind a bit just to keep her in his sights.

As he steps behind her, Taichi regards the current movie list.]

Let's try out that Samurai film.

Alright.

[She headed inside. It was the middle of the day--matinee prices--but with the temperature outside, people seemed to be lounging around, enjoying the air conditioning. Even so, the line didn't seem too long, considering how many ticket windows were open at the moment.]

[As they made it to the end of the line, her eyes idly wandered over to the snack bar. But she said nothing.]

[Taichi follows, but even seeing so many people around is a little surprising. The effects of the Dark Ocean has left a scar on him, despite his bravado, and he has to remember that there isn't any danger here. Not yet. And he's with Hikari - that's the important part of all.

Really, he can only hope that he doesn't suffer an attack while the movie goes on.

He peers down at her curiously before noticing where she's gazing.]

Want a snack? Candy? Popcorn?

[She very nearly shook her head. Then reconsidered.]

Just a drink, I guess.

I am a little thirsty.

[Taichi gives a nod.]

One drink coming up then.

[Sometimes, being there for someone was as simple as making sure they had something to drink while watching an action flick with their favorite person.]

You might just be biased.

[He says this teasingly.

But really, it's just the simple things that makes it worthwhile.]

Maybe a little.

[She would readily admit that much.]

[He laughs.]

Good to know I'm your favorite. [Even if he already did know about that.]

You'll always be my favorite, Oniichan.

[That's her story, and she's sticking to it.]
