Pokémon AU Meme!

Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Well, what do you even want to be the best at? There's so much to do in the beautiful Pokémon world... where do you begin? Which Pokémon world do you begin in?
RULES:
◓Tag the post with your character, defining what they are. Use RNG or select what you like. (It is okay to select several options for anyone replying to choose, simply clarify in your comment!)
◓Reply to someone else! If they're a trainer, perhaps be their rival or a gym leader they have to face. If they're a breeder, be a customer interested in leveling up your Pokémon. Cross the streams, interact within the world of Pokémon!
◓Don't be afraid to list what Pokémon you own... or what Pokémon you have become. Feel free to create a trainer card for your character!
◓Don't forget the Golden Rule, and of course, have fun!
A: Core Universe
01. Trainer's Journey: You're roaming the land, seeing the sights, and raising a team of Pokémon! Are you going for the championship? Or are you someone's extremely obnoxious rival? (Or both?)
02. Team ___: You're going to rule the world, one way or another - might as well beat up this punk and take their Pokémon, right?
03. Gym Leader/Elite Four: You're a stepping stone on every trainer's pursuit of the championship, and a representative for your Gym's town/city/etc.
04. Trial Captain/Kahuna: Alola is a land steeped in tradition, and you're among the people entrusted with upholding one of the most sacred of all: the island challenge.
05. Professor: What are you researching? And are you taking another professor to go along, being heckled by some ruffians, or did you bring a young trainer to escort you?
06. Breeder: You raise other trainers' Pokémon with love and attention. You also have to tell a bunch of kids about the eggs that appear when they leave a compatible pair of Pokémon behind...
07. Battle Facilities: The Frontier, the Subway, the Institute... you are a major trainer in one of these facilities, and you organize a great challenge for only the strongest trainers.
08. Coordinator: Contests! Dressing up Pokémon, raising them to use their attacks beautifully or toughly or cutely. I hear that wimpy ol' Unova just has them dance, the silly westerners.
09. Underground: Dig, dig, dig! Set those traps! Make a base! It's a competitive game, one you can do without Pokémon. You just have to be willing to get a little dirty!
10. Pokéathlon: Train hard! Get your Pokémon team set up for speed, for strength, for competition!! And get in there yourself, time's wasting!
11. Dream World: Whoa, this place is... strange. Wait, of course, it's a dream! So why did you wake up with a few less berries and a new Pokémon waiting for you...?
12. Pokéstar Studios: Film a movie, with you and your Pokémon! Although, be willing to accept that your film is probably going to be rather Bollywood... but hey, maybe you'll sign some autographs!
13. Sightseeing: Going to the Ruins of Alph? Hiking through Mt. Coronet? Looking at the strange rocks in Geosenge Town? There's a lot of beautiful landmarks in the Pokémon world to see with friends, family, and loved ones! Don't forget to take pictures!
B: Side Titles
01. Mystery Dungeon: Suddenly, you are a Pokémon! But... that's okay, right? Now you can go help (or harm) your fellow Pokémon as explorers or rescuers.
02. Snap: You don't actually own any Pokémon, you take professional photography. Maybe you'll sneak some pictures of a trainer's Pokémon, or hire a buddy to take pictures with you on the track at Pokémon Island.
03. Hey You, Pikachu!: Pick up the apple! ...Pick up the apple. The apple-- PICK UP THE GOD DAMN APPLE
04. Conquest: Why stick to just Pokémon when you could also be a Samurai Warlord?
05. Ranger: No need to catch Pokémon. You just need to enlist them briefly to help you patrol for poachers and protect nature and wild Pokémon!
06. Pokkén Tournament: Fighting mano a mano is the only way to really decide who's got the roughest, toughest 'mon around.
07. Adventures: Where being a Pokédex Holder is a huge deal, Legendary Pokémon often threaten the apocalypse, and the shounen power of the world is turned up to 11.
08. Trading Cards: Wait, you think Pokémon are real creatures? Hahah, that's silly! Now come play this Children's Card Game!
C: Unofficial
01. Nuzlocke: You come from a world where Pokémon are very likely to die in battle. There's no fainting.
02. ROM Hacks: There are countless fan-made Pokémon games, with their own stories and even their own Pokémon, sometimes.
03. Alternate Universe: Nothing captures the imagination like a Pokémon AU. Give a brief synopsis if you can.

Nozomi | Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
[A Fairy-type Gym Leader who does photography and runs a Pokémon sanctuary in her spare time--the sanctuary is mostly for Fairy types, but other Pokémon can be spotted in there...
Inside her room in the gym, there's a wall behind her that's covered in photographs of challengers who've won her badge and their teams! Will you and your team be the next addition to that wall?]
* Depending on her challenger's badge count, she may use less Pokémon or unevolved forms. Her last Pokémon, however, will always be Whimsicott. For rematches, she adds Clefable and Azumarill.
Newt Scamander | Fantastic Beasts | OTA
I see Newt as a professor or breeder, but am leaning towards the former for this. Originally from the Pokemon version of England, he's currently traveling for his work. At the moment, he's traveling across the Kalos region researching the Fairy type specifically.
He keeps the maximum of six Pokemon with him, and I imagine his current team as thus: Dragonite, Bidoof, Mimikyu, Oshawott, Serperior, and Rapidash.
He'll battle on request, but mostly he's here to study, research, and nurse neglected Pokemon back to health. He prefers Pokemon to people but once you get to know him you'll see he has a fairly big heart beneath the prickly exterior.]
prof. scamander, light cr? if i should change anything let me know!
Edgar, you're not allowed to wear my hat after losing the last one. { Her chiding is soft, almost too quiet to hear, but her Haunter pouts nonetheless. Lydia's subdued smile remains as she reaches into her bag for a can of lemonade, to which Edgar brightens up considerably. } Here. You can even keep the can -- just don't litter.
{ The girl and her Haunter make their way with no real hurry, but leaving Santalune is the current plan. Along their walk southeast, Edgar spots something interesting before Lydia does: a man that she doesn't immediately recognize, until she squints through the sun and tilts her hat a little to the left for some adequate shade. }
...Professor Scamander? --Hey, Edgar! { Edgar has already begun his excited bee-line right for the Professor, holding his empty drink container, making an excited commotion on his speedy way. Lydia can run to catch up, and she does try to, but the Haunter is much too ready to go in for a surprise and playful leap on the Professor. }
This is great and super cute! Also I love Lydia so :D
Today finds him in Santalune City, a bit of reprieve from his labours. He's especially fond of Santalune City, small, quaint, and cheerful as it is. The forest is nearby, as is Lumiose, should he require supplies. A very well situated town, he would say.
Currently, he's just emerging from a local cafe, Roserade tea in hand, when he finds himself with a familiar Haunter in his face. He can't help but grin.]
Oh, hello there, Edgar! And how are you this fine day?
[From beside him, his Mimikyu, Leta, calls out to Edgar in greeting, friendly and familiar with the other ghost Pokemon. Newt proceeds to play and pet with Edgar as his trainer approaches.]
Hello, Lydia! I hope you've been well? How's your journey coming along?
yesss I'm so glad! (ok truth time i've not seen fantastic beasts but i'm meaning to!)
Hi, Professor-- sorry about Edgar... He was really excited to see you two, I think. { Lydia's smile is a little embarrassed, but her pleasure to see Scamander -- and Leta! -- are genuine. She had no idea they were so nearby. } It's going fine. I've added quite a bit more to my Pokédex... { Professors are supposed to evaluate those, right? The thought pangs in Lydia's stomach with a little anxiety. She knows she isn't the only trainer with one, naturally, and lots of other trainers have been pretty competitive about it... It kind of makes her reluctant to ask him to see it.
How about a segue, instead! } Like Mimikyu, I just got one recently myself, through a trade. { Leta is an obvious reminder of the news, and Lydia smiles down at the Professor's Pokémon with fondness. She remembers meeting Leta the first time and burning with hope that she would finally have one to train someday. What she didn't anticipate was...how timid it would be with her, having had a prior trainer it had been caught by. }
No worries! I will try not to spoil you! <3
It's no trouble, truly, Lydia. [He continues petting Edgar with a soft smile.] I am very fond of your Edgar, as you know. He's looking very well, and so are you, I think.
[He brightens at the mention of her Pokedex, but he also thinks she seems nervous in mentioning it. He keeps his voice casual when he asks after it.] Would you like me to have a look at it?
[He grins, and Leta approaches Lydia, pleased by her news as much as Newt is.] How wonderful! They are rather marvelous, aren't they? I'm very fond of Leta here.

{ Yeah, there it is. Lydia can only curse herself for bringing it up before thinking, and now the Pokédex in her bag seems to swell with a more ominous weight. She looks fully up to the man, taller than her, throwing the shadow from her hat off her pale face. Purple-rimmed eyes stare a bit wide at his offer, but despite herself, she nods at him. } Um...I-- sure. That's what Professors do, right?
{ She's certainly trying her best to keep her nervousness from prickling up like a Sandslash's quills. She leans to dig into her bag, shuffling a few Pokéballs around before procuring the encyclopedic device. Tentatively, she hands it to Professor Scamander, not even sure what should be an acceptable collection of data for this point in her venture. Edgar rises up to her shoulder, face cheerful and curious, and...well, she knows her companions don't care about statistics, or how many Pokémon she's racking up in her copy of the 'dex. That's something she should consider a lot more, isn't it? }
no subject
He doesn't miss the nervousness in Lydia's gaze, the way she seems to be frightened by the prospect of him looking at her Pokedex. His expression softens with sympathy.]
It is, but it isn't required, you know. If you'd rather I didn't, I won't press you to show me your Pokedex. It is yours, you know, to use how you please.
[He offers her an encouraging smile. Some professors might demand that she show her Pokedex/progress, but Newt has never been nor could ever be that type of professor. Still, he accepts the Pokedex when she offers it, but he doesn't move to examine it until she gives her say so.]
If it helps, I don't believe the Pokedex is an adequate measure of how a trainer's journey progresses. I find that usually reveals itself through the trainers themselves, and their relationships with their Pokemon.
idk where all these FEELINGS CAME FROM (I know exactly where these feelings came from)
Professor Scamander speaks with that same energy, that enthusiasm that runs deep in an intellectual way, always seeking to understand Pokémon better, and for their betterment. Lydia nods thoughtfully to what he says, but she's only hearing her own thoughts. }
I...I know that. { It almost sounds like she's conceding to him, but it's really to herself. Edgar paws at her and she takes one of his claws in her hand. } That's why I wanted to become a trainer...even though I don't want to do it to collect the most Pokémon, or have the strongest ones, or the most badges. Other trainers gloat about how many Pokémon they've caught or recorded, it just started sounding like...some competition.
{ And it is, in some cases, because that's to be expected. What she means to say is she felt like she'd lost by the time she was really just beginning to feel her worth as a trainer. Her smile is a little doleful, as it passes from her Pokémon, to the kind professor. } I just care about my Pokémon. But I also want to learn more, too.
So...yeah. I'd like to know what you think... { Still a bit too young to know how to really articulate her thoughts, but Lydia has always valued Professor Scamander's work. Despite the nervousness, she knows his opinions or guidance would be more useful than reading any book. } If, that's okay.
:D
He watches Lydia, feeling deep empathy for her as he listens, knowing only too well how she feels. He smiles outright at the support Edgar lends her in taking her hand.]
I know. I've never been one for competition, myself. Takes the fun out of life, I think. But that's just my personal opinion. You have to follow the path that makes the most sense and feels the most true to you.
And I'd say, from what I can see now, that you certainly have made your own path. Your Pokemon clearly trusts and cares about you in turn. Without looking at your Pokedex, you certainly seem to me a fine and outstanding Trainer.
[He smiles again, nodding at her request.]
Of course. Just give me a moment, here.
[He begins to study the Pokedex, browsing through and examining the progress recorded in it.]

It was supposed to be a fresh start, the beginning of a new adventure.
And now she was wondering in the forest, completely lost while her Munna in her arms. She looked down.]
Kaoru...I think we're lost. Wh-what if we're lost forever...?
[Honestly, she's tired and she's hungry and she's about ready to start crying while imagining being lost forever in this place. And why is she talking to her pokemon like they can answer he anyway?]
no subject
However, wandering the forest, she does happen to hear Yuuri's voice, causing her to stop and blink in confusion.]
S-Someone lost?
[Steeling her nerves, she goes searching towards that voice.]
Hello?
no subject
H-hello? I-is anyone there?
[Please don't be a ghost. Her only ghost pokemon is tired from helping her fend off wild Bug pokemon that her other two pokemon are disadvantageous against.]
no subject
Yes, I'm here! Wh-where are you? I can come to you if you need help!
[At least, that's what she hopes she can do!]

I-I'm over here! [But where was here, anyway? Just over here by these bushes.]
Um. You're not a ghost, are you?

Athrun Zala | Gundam SEED
Eren Jaeger | Shingeki no Kyojin
[From Unova. Has a strong bond with his Pokemon. Likes battles but also just wandering around, catching new Pokemon and train them. Like most trainers he wants to be the best]
AU!Tatsuya Suou/Persona 2 Eternal Punishment/OTA
Now, while he's being played in gameverse, don't be afraid to go animeverse with him! Also, while he's defaulted in Alola, he can also be found in all main game regions, as well as Ranger Regions! And if you want a battle with him, with all means, challenge him! His team is in the link.
Katsuya is not part of the Tatsuya package, unfortunately, but Helios the Litten is for extra cuteness!]

Varian | Tangled TV series
Apart from Zigzagoon, he mostly has artificial Pokémon and Electric type Pokémon.
Besides battling to prove his worth, he also never stops inventing new stuff, and will also gladly help repair anything that needs fixing. Speaking of inventing, well, stuff might explode sometimes, but that's science (no, that's Varian being clumsy, but, well...).]
