Interspecies / Fixation

It started out as it always does: Konoka encounters someone who needs help and heals them.

The lack of discrimination would be seen as foolhardy by anyone else, but this wasn't the first time Konoka had brazenly walked up to a full size dragon and healed them, and knowing her it wouldn't be the last. Sometimes beasts were no different in that they caused trouble out of pain rather than malice or hunger, so Konoka had made it her sworn duty to put an end to certain rampages as non-violently as possible, especially given her medical talents. But Konoka also hadn't met a manakete before, so it was surprising to see the beast turn into a small girl with wings! This was how Konoka and Myrrh met.

They'd been friendly with each other since then. Not particularly tall herself, Konoka found it amusing on how such a mighty dragon had such a small and cute form.

Delicate fingers trailed across Myrrh's small body and her wings, the fourth time since they met. Myrrh didn't get into the same level of dangers that she did when, but Konoka always needed practice healing, and was checking up for wounds after this latest skirmish against brigands. But though she had been doing so clinically for all sorts of people, things wound up being different today. There was the slightest quiver in her voice when she asked, "Feel anything wrong?"
