My love resembles the eternal rocks beneath: a source of little visible delight, but necessary

When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy.

How To Play

1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences.
2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever.
3. Thread! Have fun! Do things!

Scenarios

1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team.

2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions.

3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in?

4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place.

5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain.

6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was.

7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done.

8. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place?

9. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too.

10. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together.

11. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies.

12. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celibacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad!

13. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally?

14. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are.

[ One could say that her persistence was odd in this case - but after Madsen had found out that she wasn't the only one who was dealing with something resembling a journey of self-discovery, she wanted to make sure that Taeseok was okay as well. Not that she knew the extent of everything he was becoming, despite knowing that they were similar, she didn't think it polite to really pry into it. It didn't feel right, and despite shoving herself into this self-proclaimed mission to try and get him to keep from working himself to near-death, she had her limits.

But if pressed, it was hard for her to explain why. She supposes it's partially because of their weird friendship, which generally consisted of her needling him, checking up on him, and just generally trying to nudge him into trying to open up.

(And thankfully she had an ally in that goal through his assistant.)

Though what she won't admit is that he reminds her of when she was in her own isolation period, and while the circumstances were ... slightly different, considering she was kind of in the middle of a fucking war at that point, she's worried he would do what she did or worse - and nobody deserves to beat themselves up over anything for that long.

Kindred spirits, in so many words - and she wanted to make sure that he didn't go along the same path she did.

So when there's an opportunity where she gets to play undercover bodyguard (and it admittedly was actually because Amadi wanted her to keep tabs on some people, it wasn't her fault that Taeseok was on that list - and she'd never admit to taking it on when she found out he was going to be there, nope), she's sure as hell taking it. Hell, she's even dressed for the part of being someone's eye candy for the night, even if she'd rather not.

At the moment, she's keeping her distance, pretending to be engrossed in a group conversation while taking momentary glances around the hall. It's not a perfect plan, and admittedly pretty half-assed, but it's fine. ]

[taeseok sighs and takes another sip of his champagne, looking absolutely bored yet it seems like none of the people surrounding him, talking his ear off are noticing or they have and are pretending not to for whatever reason he can't fathom.

attending events, parties like these are one of the many reasons taeseok hates about being a ceo of a big company and the only person he can blame is himself.

as soon as he got a lead, all that went through his mind was that he might be one step closer to figuring who he was. yet, months have passed and there was no progress, frustrating him until help came in the form of a beautiful woman named madsen.

stuck in the same boat as him, taeseok felt camaraderie from her.

he wasn't sure what to think of her at first. she started as another thorn at his side, joining the demon he knew, however, she was different. unlike the other who came in whenever at least madsen tried to get to him the proper way. the one thing she shared with the demon was the constant way they bothered him despite him trying to ignore them or outright reject them.

actually, no. the two have something else in common and that's getting him to relax. this want of theirs is getting problematic even worse now that madsen has joined forces with sejun. to be quite honest, it's a miracle his assistant has yet to meet the demon but managed to meet madsen. not that it matters who he meets first. aligning himself with either was bad. aligning himself with both, that was taeseok's worst nightmare come true.

though, he honestly felt bad days after meeting with her when he told her that if she was seeking friendship, she should leave. he doesn't understand why. it was something he had done multiple times over the course of his life because he doesn't want friends. he lives a life where he moves from place to place, creates different lives to live. he's meant to be alone, fine being on his own.

in a foul mood, taeseok excuse himself from the talkative group of old geezers and makes his way to the bar. he stops short upon seeing madsen, taken aback at the way she's dressed and not realizing he's checking her out]
