Interspecies Love Meme

Vampires and humans. Angels and demons. Ghosts and the living. The idea of "opposites attracting" is hardly a new one, but with the rise in popularity of supernatural creatures, aliens, and other sentient beings beyond our human understanding, the forbidden romance trope has been injected a shot of fresh blood- sometimes quite literally.

This meme does just that, taking the whole "not meant for each other" thing to it's most logical extreme. Of course, it's not always angst and depression. These days, mermaids and bird-people can have their relationships in peace to some degree.

Rules

• Comment with your character, putting any preferences you have (ie, "humanoid characters only," F/M, etc). Also, be sure to note your character's "species" for others to reference (Name | Character | OTA | Human, ghost, mutant, alien, vampire, god, zombie-catgirl hybrid, etc).
• Reply to others. If your characters aren't different species, feel free to AU or anything else like that.
• Use the rng to determine your prompt.
• Also I didn't think I needed to say this, but be excellent to each other. Dick comments and anon bullying are not on.

1. Meeting: Did you know there were, I don't know, werewolves before this? Or maybe you thought all aliens were evil. Will this...thing change your perception?
2. Falling in Love: You know you're not the same, but your feelings don't care.
3. Self-Hate: Perhaps you're mad at the being you're in love with, yet you're more angry at yourself.
4. Can't Be Together: Whether for self-inflicted reasons or societal rules, you can't be in love with who your heart has chosen and it's putting a strain on you.
5. Pushing You Away: Things are getting too intense, and for both of your sake, you want to make friend/crush/lover hate you.
6. Beauty & the Beast: One of you is beautiful, the other hideous. Maybe, though, the beautiful one is ugly in the eyes of society, depending on where you live. Whatever the case is, you don't look the same.
7. Confession: Screw the rules, you're going to tell that sweet girl/guy/other how you feel! What can go wrong? Or this is something you've put a lot of thought into and you're scared, but you're going to do it.
8. First Time...or Not: Finally, the two of you are taking the next step and getting physical. It may go off without a hitch, depending on your...you know, or- OH GOD, HOW IS THAT GOING TO GO IN HERE. Wait, you have a...?
9. The Kinky Option: Hey, maybe being different will pay off. Think about it. A long tongue? Ghost powers? Sounds like it could be fun in the bedroom.
10. Prejudice: "What are you doing with that dirty monster?" "You know we can't be involved with humans!" "We don't take kindly to your type around here." Why can't people just leave you two be?
11. Facing Your Instinct: It's hard to be with someone when you want to suck their blood. Or eat their brains. Or possess them.
12. Because of Me: Your lover has been dragged into your fight or hurt by others of your kind. Now they're in the crossfire.
13. Standing Up For You: Hey, knock it off! I don't care what you think, he's perfect in my eyes.
14. You Don't Know You're Beautiful: The fluffy option where you're trying to make your loved one see just how much you care and how they're beautiful to you, no matter what.
15. Gifts: Show your affection with a gift from your culture.
16. Starting a Family: Can you even reproduce? Is it something you want to consider? Perhaps it's new ground to tread, so you'll have to be the first to think about it.

Modern time, some of the elves still living alongside humans albeit masquerading to hide what they actually are.

The perfect shot. Sure, it wasn't a rifle in his hands, but the telescoping lens on the camera could still give him a thrill. Some days it was a starlet with their producer other days it was an endangered species for National Geo or the BBC. Today, the photos taken from a hidden location, just happened to be someone who was something they were not.

Teeth bared as the shutter clicked again, gathering evidence for the well-paying client.

Felt some guilt over this one. He wasn't in the habit of exposing rarities to the light of day or at least not with their coordinates. Elephants, black rhinos, Bengal Tigers and the lot didn't have their locations made known. Why should an unright being? Because there was money on the table? Or because Jack was tired of living in squalor? Cheap hotel rooms he would have picked anyway because of the anonymity they provided.

The target in question lifted his face and directed a piercing look towards Jack's position. A smirk curled up, from under the hapzardly placed long coat on the reclining wooden chair besides him came a phone which he subsequently use. Still talking the platinum blonde head tilted slightly with silent invitation, 'Come down, I want to talk'.

From the back of the estate a helicopter rose to the air then turned towards Jack's general direction. It might looks like a for general use public model but the machine gun that suddenly lowered from its belly is definitely not.

Heard the motor before the aircraft lifted. Had planned his ingress and egress carefully. Had avoided cameras like he was allergic to them. Had navigated the undergrowth like the silent sniper he was. Now he bolted along the preplanned route. Moran might be on the downslope to fifty, he might be a few years out of the military, but he was no sloppy recruit. Ditched the drive, hoping to come back to it later.

Planning, however, did nothing when he was met at the fenceline by suits with weapons that weren't legal, not that he was a stickler for those kinds of restrictions himself. Hands raised, nice and slow, staying far away from the knife at the small his back. Not that he needed a weapon, but most days it was nice to have.

"Easy boys," drawling a lazy Dulwich accent. Immediately added, "Lady," having caught the whiff of perfume from over his shoulder. "Why don't I give you the SIM card and then be on my way?" A blank. "No need waste your time."

Redhead, long hair bound into simple ponytail. A long time ago she was known as Tauriel but these days she was Saoirse O'Connor, Personal Assistant of Theodore Sullivan, reclusive philatrophic billionaire. Still no nonsense even after thousands of years. "Search him," she ordered the guards surrounding both of them. When 'the boys' does their job she said, "My employee wish to talk with you. For your own sake, cooperate."

The obvious camera, a few blades, a length of piano wire that was a makeshift garrot, and a zip case that looked suspiciously like lockpicks. Surprisingly no wallet, although a pair of condoms were in his back pocket along with a punched Tube pass. There were a few other tools and misc items in the wool peacoat, including a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. No keys, although there was a Vauxhall Corsa nearby, his getaway vehicle.

Jack cooperated until fingers curled around a tiger's canine on a rather long leather thong around his neck. The length was such that it couldn't be seen at his neck, and the tooth rested in the groove it had carved over his heart. It wasn't something to show off and it wasn't decoration to impress a date.

He growled when it was touched. "You take that," levelling emerald green eyes, that were as lush as the land that Morans originally hailed from, at the suit who had his hands on it, "and I will kill you."

One by one the items they fished out from Jack was placed inside a metal-lined bag, they didn't take chance with anything. Except for what appeared as a tiger's tooth. Tauriel craned her neck to see it from another angle. "You will get it back after we are done," she said, motioning for the metal detector-carrying guard to recheck the item.

Shirt unbuttoned revealed the scars clawed and bitten into his flesh as the tooth was lifted from where it always nestled. "Perhaps I am not making myself clear." Crisp. Educated - Eaton and Oxford. Polite. Utterly drop-dead serious. "I will kill you," still looking at the man who was beginning to obey. "I give you my regrets and a suggestion to run."

As the leather lacing was tugged over his head, mussing the already tossed waves, the change he could not stop came. It hurt worse than getting a building dropped on him then being drug off to a cave in the high mountain desert where he was held without treatment. Hurt worse than making his broken limbs work and get out of the terrorist's den. Hurt worse than crawling back to base. For a dreadful second, man and tiger both existed at the same time in the same place.

Instead of Jack being in control of the change, the spirit tiger was left undirected by the human mind and the beast mauled the man in front of him thinking him the cause of the agony.

To nearly everyone else it was only the quick chop of her hand that struck the base of Jack's neck but Saoirse is not human and it goes that her strength also matches. Too bad that they are supposed to bring this one in one piece because she was sure that 'the boys' would love to give Mr. Moran unforgettable lesson about why in front of so many gun-totting people playing nice is the only sane option.

Without the talisman, there was no Jack only Kali's kitten, which looked exactly like a rather large male Bengal tiger of approximately 60 stone (840lbs). Striking it should have turned its attention to the female, except that the blow was attributed only to the male struggling in its jaws. Teeth met, biting through the shoulder with a terrible crunch of bone while wicked claws tore the suit and flesh beneath it.

Moran would have cursed, but the link was temporarily severed between him and the cat and wouldn't be reconnected until the tooth was restored to its place. It was doubtful anyone in the spirit world was much impressed with his current stream of creative foulness at finding himself dead and looking at the wheel of reincarnation and a river of forgetfulness. Was not looking forward to seeing his many lives and how many times he backslid.

The last time this happened, Jim had, thankfully already made friends with the tiger and was able, through trickery, put the leather loop back around its neck. Somehow he didn't think that an elf who was being paparazzi'ed would be willing to do more than to make a good faith and, dare Jack admit, reasonable effort to kill the - what could be - a semi-immortal beast.
