The WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? Meme

Most of the time, we RPers hold certain conventions when we play. One of these is that no matter what the medium our characters are from, they are "real" people/aliens/gods/creatures and others will see them as such. But what if it wasn't like that? What if, for a moment, the 4th wall was pulled up and disbelief not suspended?

Or what if our characters were used to that, because they've lived in a world where humans and "toons" exist alongside each other their entire lives?

Well, let's see how it goes!

HOW TO PLAY
1. Comment with your character, putting any preferences somewhere in your comment. Also, you might want to include if your character is a "human" or a "toon." Hyper-realistic drawn or rendered characters can choose either.
2. Other people will respond, rolling the RNG to determine the scenario.
3. Play out the scene!

OPTIONS
1. First Time Meeting- You've heard about them, but you've never met a toon or a human before. How do you respond? Are you fascinated? Freaked out?

2. Coworkers- You know each other in some kind of professional capacity. Interpret that how you want.

3. Friendship- To you, they're not a toon/human. They're just your friend.

4. Hate- Something's happened in your past that's made you wary of toons/humans, but you've been forced somehow to confront the object of your distaste.

5. Romeo and Juliet- Love between humans and toons is not completely unheard of, but it's certainly looked down upon. Can you make your relationship work in a world that doesn't think your feelings are real, especially if your family and friends are against it?

6. Sex- It's not love. You're just having fun, and you want to know what it's like to be with the forbidden fruit. Plus, some of those cartoon women are super hot. Just sayin'

7. Lost Relative- Wait. Your long-lost sister/brother/uncle is a toon/human? How does that work? It's probably better not to ask.

8. Free Space- If you have your own idea, this is the option for you!

[Despite having been trapped in this cartoonish nightmare for, at the most, twenty-four hours, Sam never the less felt himself further slip into the madness his new environment was projecting every second upon every hour. Even though this wasn't what he had expected hell to be like, it certainly was living up to its torture stories in more unquiet and horrifying ways.

Wandering aimlessly ad-missed the dank, run down metropolis was proving to be far too much for Sam to bear at the moment. He needed to find a place that was somewhat familiar, a place that could provide him with an hour or two's worth of shelter, a place that served alcohol. Alcohol. Yes, as usual, alcohol was going to help Sam get his head on straight.

Trying desperately to move across the streets as unnoticed as possible, Sam's eyes wildly darted about the glowing signs, searching for one that had some form of clique symbol on it. Focusing in on a giant green martini, Sam didn't even bother to read the half blinking words that were plastered below it.

Nervously, he looked both ways at least a half dozen times before making a break for the other side. Sirens, gunshots, and unintelligible gibberish soon whirled past him as a car of what appeared to be anthropomorphic cats in prisoner attire were gliding neck and neck with a paddy-wagon full of police dogs. Slamming his shoulder up against the cold, brick wall, Sam heaved in a slight panic of narrowly missing being flattened against the pavement.

Or...at least, that's what he believed would happen, though he hasn't run afoul anything major such as having an anvil dropped on his head or plugging in an electronic only to be lit up like a Christmas tree, Sam regardless had no desire to find out if he would survive an assault from a toon.

Pushing his body away from the wall, Sam hoofed it towards the bar, dashing in a mad panic, pushing himself to run as if a metaphoric devil was at his heels. Barreling through the doors, Sam came to a skidding hault in the middle of what appeared to be a dance floor. Music blared, strobe lights flickered in varying patterned colors, and the all too familiar screaming gibberish filled the air. Of course, quiet didn't exist in this plain.

Though the bar was far more night clubish than what he usually frequented, beggars could not be choosers in his type of situation. Not even thinking about how he would manage to pay for his beverage, Sam took up residence on an empty bar stool, eyes struggling to adjust to the colorful strobe lights flickering on and off. Staring blankly at a large, gorilla, he sheepishly ordered a mug of the house beer. Relief suddenly washes over him as the odd looking bartender produces a real looking mug and actually pours him a real looking amber colored bubbling liquid into the glass.

Offering him a hasty thank you, Sam wastes no time in indulging in his drink. Guzzling down what had to have been half the mug, Sam sets it down on the counter, letting out a very satisfied 'Ahhhh'. For one brief moment, peace was had.]

How can a toon be threatening? She walks over and reaches out to try to touch his hair, wondering if it'll be all one piece or if she'll be able to run her fingers through it.]

[There's a pretty park that sits on the border between the toon side of town and the human side of town. It's one of the few places where toon scenery and live-action scenery blend, since toon flowers and live-action grass creep over their respective borders. It's also where Becca is currently sitting, waiting for Allen. She'd met him the first time here, and it's where they usually meet up to hang out.]

Sure, anime adaptations and shiny remakes awaited him a year down the road, but for right now, he's just pushing the snack cart. Coffee, bear claws, popsicles; everything kinda reminds him of his five minutes of fame. Nevermind that he hasn't been living in Glorious Nippon for about a year. America was supposed to be a good place to find work.

And he did find work, technically. This snack cart wouldn't push itself. The Homestuck cast was doing a panel shoot. Yosuke wasn't really a fan, per se, but they were more famous than him.
