[ooc: sure, I'm game. :) How do you feel about some assumed CR and the Angst-Fight scenarios? Perhaps they've been dating for a bit now but just had a fight because she found out who he really was and was pissed he didn't say anything? We could also throw a bit of guilt in there for good measure for both of them, maybe she hasn't told him the secret parts of her life either?]

Methos was a wreck, rifling through his things and contemplating his options. An Immortal had grabbed Robin while she'd been waiting for him in his apartment. He'd read the note from the Immortal demanding Methos show himself, fight him and he would take his 'coward head'. Part of him had convinced himself that she was likely already dead and should just run now. He had lived his life looking out for himself, he needed to stay alive!

Still, his weakness had always been those he cared for. He'd nearly died to try to save Alexa's life when she was dying, risked and ultimately revealed himself to the Watchers and blew his cover.

At least the Immortal had never worked out just which Immortal Methos was, referring to him as Adam in the note.

Cursing under his breath, he reached for his Ivanhoe, tucking the sword into his coat and went toward the door. Swinging it open, he stopped still, seeing someone he hadn't expected standing right in front of him.

"Robin." he breathed, relief and disbelief spreading through him.

Methos was still, caught between the immediate desire to see to her injuries to make sure she was okay and just how to address the possibly accusatory glare in her eyes. He wanted to look her over, see to her every wound and assess their seriousness, but the expression on her face was stopping him from moving forward like he so desperately wanted.

What had happened? What had the other Immortal said? What he'd done was clear enough. His jaw clenched, tight, grinding his teeth.

And how on Earth had she managed to escape? Not that he wasn't grateful for that bit of good fate.

Tentatively, he stepped aside to let her in. "Is he still alive?"

The only way to have killed him for good would have been to relieve him of his head. Methos planned, however this played out tonight, to finish the job if the Immortal wasn't dead. Damn caution. If he was alive, he'd no doubt come after Robin again.

And then there was the state of her now. The blood. The bruises.

- Crossovers make me ugly cry because I love them so much. Special favorites would be Thor from...you know and any of the dwarves from The Hobbit, as she is from a canon that has dwarves who are very different. Game of Thrones characters also hold a place in my heart; the idea of Dany/Snow, Sansa/Snow, or Robb/Snow just got me nearly keysmashing.
- Basically, if your character is halfway decent and not out there punting puppies into baby carriages and then pushing the carriages off cliffs, Snow will probably have chemistry with them.

[Sometimes he thinks he can pinpoint the exact moment he realized he was in love with Leo. Other times, he's not sure when it happened, just that it did. Sure, he'd tried to tell himself he was mistaking something else for love; you've never felt it before, how can someone like you possibly know what it is? You're a street rat who never had any parents, the bastards you ran with sure as hell didn't know the meaning of the word.

One night, he'd actually asked Leo-as a hypothetical scenario, of course. How can someone who was raised in violence and filth know if they love a person? Is it possible for them to realize it? And Leo said yes, that "the circumstances of someone's birth and raising don't necessarily dictate their heart."

Because Niles trusts Leo's word above all else, that shut up the nagging voice in his head. Maybe that was the moment that cemented his feelings once and for all.

It doesn't matter, though. He knows for sure he loves Leo more than anything, more than his own life. Leo, who took him in when his only family threw him away. Who reassured him when bratty nobles harassed him, offered his room as shelter to protect him further. Had warm clothes made especially for him, made sure he got enough to eat, held his hand when he had trouble sleeping. Taught him to read.

It's not the gifts or the privileges themselves, it's that they were offered so easily, that Leo wanted him to be safe and happy and healthy.

That for the first time in his life, someone cared about him.

How could a man not fall in love after that?]

[On the opposite side of the coin, he couldn't quite place when having Niles around became more of a need than a want.

Having a retainer around constantly was expected of the nobility, and Niles had proved himself as attentive and as dutiful as any of them, be it for tasks, requests, or even just to talk to. At first, he'd worried the nature of the job- the constant contact- meant that Niles would seek independence, freedom.

After all, his retainer wasn't trained to be one, and of course he'd lived a life, as horrible as it was, before being taken in and given obligations. His initial worries had been for nothing- if anything, Niles had thrived as much as Leo himself had with the job. And things were good. About as good as they could be in the middle of a war.

Tasks done for the day, he'd decided to take a small walk around camp before starting on his own. And of course, Niles is with him.]

I'd not thought a place like this possible. [He remarks, mostly about the hidden nature of the fort that Lilith had constructed.] It's quite amazing. Perhaps we should ask a dragon to build one for us when all of this is over.

[Of course, peacekeeping work is vital. He planned to be involved in every single step of it. But it would be nice to have somewhere so isolated, so hidden, as well.]

I'm sure if we asked nicely, Lady Corrin will have Lilith build one for us. [The weird little fish-dragon is growing on him, even if she needs to be fed like eight times a day. It's a good thing they have a decent food supply, even on the days they can't get out to hunt.

But that's neither here nor there. He's walking beside Leo, as close as he can without them being stuck together at the hip, their hands just inches away from each other. Even something as simple as this can make his heart beat faster, give him that warm fuzzy feeling all over.]

[A small smile.] No, no. We'll have to earn it. You're going to have to find a small bird, and then save it. It'll grow into a stablemaid and then rescue you when you're falling down a cliff face. I'm afraid animals aren't my most favoured creatures. You'll stand a far better chance of making a good impression than me.

[A small laugh at the ridiculousness of that statement.] ... My sister clearly has led a life which will serve as fine stories for many generations yet.

Who would have thought a sheltered, naive little girl could lead such an interesting life? [He chuckles] Nah, Corrin's okay. She doesn't mind my filthy mouth and she's good about making that butler of hers shut up about it.

Not good with animals, huh? Your horse seems to disagree, unless he's the lone exception.
