ANGST MEME


Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters can and will fall.

1. just depressed.
Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.
You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.
Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.
You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.
You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.
For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.
You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.
Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.
You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.
This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.
You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.
Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.
You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.
Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.
You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.
It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss
You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.
Combine some options or make your own!

[ A year passes and things don't ever return to the blissful limbo between girlhood and womanhood; there's no more talk of romances they aspire to attain, nor the husbands they hope to have or the children they dream of birthing for those are such silly things to dwell on. It's a wonder they ever found them important enough to warrant staying up half the night whispering like girls, and yet still a wonder they don't return to such practices for they are still girls. They're young; pretty - well, Sansa is pretty, prettier when the brown is washed from her hair, the black spot of frostbite cannot be scrubbed from Jeyne's face. ]

[ And it is Jeyne now. She stayed Arya for all of two months after Winterfell fell (again) before she made a mistake again; the same sort of mistake that often earned her the brunt of Ramsay's wrath. She half expects the same sort of punishment from the king as she had her husband, expects to join Theon in whatever cell they are still keeping him in; but Stannis Baratheon does nothing more harmful than state at her in disgust when she is brought before him to recount what she had said and recant her lie. He leaves soon after to continue fighting the war that spans the entire kingdom. ]

[ Later - months later - a large blond woman (Can that really be a woman? Jeyne recalls thinking when she first lays eyes on Brienne of Tarth. She doesn't have half her face!) arrives at the gates and claims she has brought Sansa Stark home, and all Jeyne can do is stare for - between the beatings and insistence that her childhood playmate was a traitor - she had mourned to think of never seeing the other girl again. She wept to see her; held herself as wept into the folds of the scarf she wore because she liked to hide her nose in it. ]

[ If the reunion is tearful, the following months are horrific. They had shared a bed as children - indeed, that was where most of their time gossiping had been spent - but now, when Jeyne slipped from her adjacent room (they'd yet to move her from the old Arya's chambers, even when the truth came out) into Sansa, and tearfully asked if she could sleep by her side, it was fueled by the fear of shadows and the bane of nightmares. The Bastard of Bolton was dead, but in her dreams he still shared her bed and, much like life, there was nothing she could do to stave him off. She thinks, if given the choice, she would have preferred to seek out Theon, because then she would have no need to explain what had woken her, but he was still branded a turn cloak and had been banished to the Wall. ]

[ As it turns out, however, Sansa doesn't ask many questions. And out of respect, neither does Jeyne. Their mutual silence may well be to blame for why it takes her the better part of a year to pathetically whimper; ]

I never...want to be married again.

16 - Post-Snape Incident because I can't fricken help myself.

[Sirius Black, the boy who apologizes about as often as Snape washes his hairthe solar eclipse comes about, the boy who only genuinely feels guilty for about half of the things he's apologizing for, would currently like nothing more than to crawl into a hole and die.

It's no secret that Sirius doesn't think things through as often as he should or that his mouth has a nasty habit of running off without his brain working fast enough to stop it and while it's no excuse it's exactly why Sirius didn't realize the full severity of the situation he had caused until Snape was well on his way to being ripped to pieces by one large and angry Werewolf. The only thing stopping it from being an unmitigated disaster was James' quick reflexes, leaving Snape with a few bumps and bruises from the ungraceful spill back down the tunnel and Sirius feeling so sick at himself that it was a marvel he could even keep himself upright.

Of all the stupid, inconsiderate things Sirius could have done this takes the fucking cake and now he has no idea what he could do to make things right again.

Assuming making them right was even possible.]

As Charisa struggled with the doorknob she could only hope Clint was off on a mission for SHIELD, the last thing she wanted was for him to see her like this and inquire just what had happened. After a good minute she finally pushed her way inside, holding her right elbow to keep her shoulder immobile.

She knew it was dislocated and that the emergency room was a better option but, instead she opted for home being as stubborn as she was. Using her foot to let the door gently shut she made a b-line for the bathroom.

Dried blood ran down the length of her arms and circled her neck, while bruises dawned her face. Everything had happened so damn fast she wasn't sure who her attackers had been, she was just thankful they left her alive.

[It's past 3 AM, and Stark Tower is as quiet as it will ever be. The hum of endless machines seems to fill the air palpably. If you squint, you might be able to see the quick flickering of the fluorescent lights. There is bright white computer screen in the middle of the broad R&D center which stains the area behind him blue and green.

Whatever might have been on that screen blinks off, leaving nothing but the desktop. A voice emits from the speaker, but it isn't the voice of Jarvis. It's a soft, hissing voice, with an accent that sounds like it might be British but is probably just Alien.]

Tony Stark, you have been alone for a long time.

[When the voice dies away the program jumps back to the screen. Like nothing at all had happened.]

[It starts to become painful for Tim when he enters the Batcave. This used to be his own refuge, the last place untouched by the evil things in this world that wish to take everything away from him. With Bruce gone, Tim felt as if being Robin was the only thing he had that connected him to the man who he considered a father after his own was taken from him.

And now a murderer is in that position. It almost makes him sick.

He has a new persona, now. One he'd taken from another who felt about Tim the same way he feels about Damian. The irony doesn't escape him, nor the feel of poetic justice. It doesn't take away from the sting. Dick had told him he's still welcome here, but every time he arrives, that presence is still there. That overbearing feeling that everyone has deemed him useless, and he's only here now because of pity.

Sometimes he feels that way about himself. His parents dead, his stepmother insane and now likely one of the many killed either from the attack that destroyed Bludhaven or the Anti-Life Equation. His best friends lost to another Crisis. Anyone would crack. Has he?]
