You may have always been one, or you may have just become one, or you might have powers and are close enough to one, but you're a god...probably. Maybe. You could also be a follower of a god, someone conspiring to steal powers, a relative of someone who recently became a god, and so forth and so on.

Write down preferences.
If you're a god, mention what you're the god of.
If you're not a god, then that's great, just write down preferences so people know what they're working with.
Options include two gods of the same pantheon, two gods of the same thing from two different pantheons dueling over who gets what, a follower and a god, two followers, someone trying to steal a god's godhood, a god trying to get their stolen godhood back...be creative.

mad sweeney is definitely not human, but he falls more demigod than god. he's the personification of several irish myths that have tumbled into one another for survival. he is 1) a 3,000+ years nature spirit from an irish glade, 2) an irish king who was cursed by a saint, 3) a member of the aos sí (specifically a leprechaun).

he can bleed, cry, die, but hungers for belief in order to be at his fullest and strongest. Post 1800's, that belief is essentially obsolete. he's at his most human, with minor magics.

he tends to recognize other gods as gods, and has some faerie-esque powers, including glamour, bottomless pockets (and gold therein), turning of one's fortune, and unusual physical resilience. he's not considered a member of any faerie court, as the seelie/unseelie factions were an english belief.

They're considered the god of Mercy. Alternatively, a kid in training to become the servant of a god.

[Technically more akin to a demi-god as he has yet to fully accend to godhood. As a god he would be the god of light and resilience as he's destined to, like Baldr of Norse mythology, to lead humans into a new era after the so called end of the world.]
