Three years ago, Inari moved to LA with the man she though would be her one true love. She'd been young, and innocent, and still somewhat in shock after the revelation that her father was a living vampire; and that--if she wasn't careful--she could become one, too.

In retrospect, running away from home been anything but careful, but she'd gotten lucky. She'd run away with a guy who would literally take a bullet for her, and for a while, they'd lived happily ever after. Her vampiric powers had burned out, and new ones--empathic ones--had risen from the ashes. And in the process of growing up and discovering herself, Inari realized that she and her first love had begun to grow apart. So, once again, she'd packed her bags and gone back to revisit her roots. And that was where she'd met Jack. Handsome, incorrigible, impossible Jack, who was obviously completely enthralled with her sister.

And yet...that didn't necessarily mean he was out of reach.
