[ School has been a very different place to be in the past few weeks; a much quieter, brighter and therefore much stranger place to be. There has been less yelling in the halls, less noise in the detention room, less whispering in the halls as new news becomes old news becomes no news at all. Naruto seems distracted at times, but those who attended the winter ball know different, know that instead of distracted Naruto is on the contrary incredibly focused... just not on school.

The object of his focus is the girl who students automatically part for, who's presence is much larger than she is and who Naruto has found himself entirely rapt with in a way nothing else has ever managed. Usually he's like a bluebottle, buzzing around whatever takes his attention the quickest and easy to distract by something shinier-- but this time he's been hard to drag away, hard to deter from finding her in hallways or glancing at her mid-lesson.

The end of the day is when that boisterousness comes back in full force, like a kettle waiting to boil and finally spilling over as the bell rings. He finds her not moments after the students burst into corridors, hand slipping quickly into hers, face leaning over to press his cheek close to hers. ]
