You now have to spend the next however many hours at the airport.

Now, the blizzard was keeping them from returning to Russia for Victor's competition. He dropped his bag, containing his skates a bit too hard.

"There's never going to be a lift off is there?" Cael whined and sank down into his seat. He had seen the numbers for lift-off increasing more and more in big red letters. He was just waiting for it to say cancelled aswell and then he didn't know how he would get home. All his stress was now turning into frustration and it showed. He then glanced over at Peter, wondering how he could manage to look so calm over the whole thing. Like a rock.

[The last time Remus was at a muggle airport, he'd been very young, his parents still desperately shuttling him to all the corners of the world for a nonexistent cure, until they'd run out of money to do so and had slowly resigned themselves to the way they'd have to live with a werewolf for a child.

Now, he's an adult, and there's a war on, and this is just the best way to get where the Order needs him to be in the way they need him to be there. There was a block of all magical methods of transportation within fifty miles of his final destination, but more conventional, muggle methods would do just fine.

Hence, waiting at the airport. His flight's been delayed three times now, but that's not too worrisome, given the weather. Remus sighs, eyeing the food stands not far off; he's been given some muggle money for travel expenses, but not much, and only cash. Untraceable, that way. Not many people were used to seeing the sort of nasty scars Remus had, muggle or magical, but most at least were polite enough to not do more than give a second glance.

He sighed as the time of the delay ticked up once more.] At this rate, I may as well start walking. [Said to no one in particular.]

Caitlin shifts in her seat, looking over at the big glowing sign listing all of the outgoing flights. This is supposed to be a fun vacation; this is supposed to be Caitlin's victory for having guessed closer to how long they could deal with Howard and Caitlin's mother without going over. Instead, they're sitting in one of the gates at JFK where they've been for the past three hours. The snow outside really isn't letting up and it's making Caitlin wish that she'd waited until May or June to plan this trip. It's just that the idea of Paris in the snow had been entirely too alluring. That was clearly a mistake.

She leans her head against his shoulder, frowning as the time next to the DELAYED status changes from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Being here with him instead of alone is at least something, but she'd really rather be sipping mimosas in first class flying over the Atlantic by now.

"I'm sorry, baby," she sighs sadly. It's the second time that the departure time has changed since they got through the security line. "This sucks."

[ Stein’s harmless, so it’s not like there’s anything wrong with disturbing his nap though Marie had given him some approximation of peace there for a moment. She’d been keeping herself amused well enough for a while now, anyway, mostly by playing with a fellow stranded traveller’s toddlers. After that, it’d been making polite conversation with a couple of tourists. They’d been from a sleepy seaside town in Australia, one she’d nearly leveled a building in a couple years ago in one of the rare incidents that had required a deathscythe’s intervention. (What a funny coincidence!)

Luckily, when she finally decides to rejoin Stein, there’s still an empty seat by his head. For some reason, no one had taken it, but that might have something to do with the fact that he’d started to encroach on the space in his sprawl. Don’t mind her, she’ll just be rearranging her meister here so she can sit. ]

[ She makes the announcement with he sort of conviction that usually gives people pause, the sort that comes with declarations of intent to marry plumbing fixtures or make other sweeping life changes that most people might find unreasonable. After rolling her shoulder forward, she lifts her second cup, holding it out over his lap.]
