Not even going to lie, I've recently become obsessed with the idea of subverting the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" with Belle in the Snow White role and the Tolkien dwarves as...the dwarves. Instead of Snow White falling for the Handsome Prince archetype, she decides that she likes the dwarves better. The relationship between her and whatever dwarf of your choosing can begin strained, perhaps with an arranged marriage or just plain uneasy alliance, but gradually, their bond strengthens and eventually becomes romantic. Or IDEK, they might like each other from the start in some handwavey fashion, resulting in them being together. Picky is the last thing that I am.
