It was dark outside and the first signs of snow were beginning to drift down as a tall figure, dressed against the cold, made his way toward a block of apartments where his date waited for him. This wasn't the first time that Johnny Arnett had been on a date with the lovely Mia Dearden, but tonight instead of him taking her somewhere, Mia had invited him to her place, a move that he hoped was a sign that things between them were moving to the next level.

During their last date they had shared details about their lives over a platter of Italian breads; he had grown up in the Florida Quays and had come to Star City as an arts student, which had after awhile led him into modelling to help pay his tuition. He'd confessed a little reluctantly that his dad had sent him some extra money to be able to afford to take Mia to the pricey restaurant, and listened with growing sympathy as she'd opened up about her past. It hadn't been what he'd expected at all, and he hadn't quite known what to say, so instead of saying anything he'd just taken her hand and given it a gentle squeeze, understanding and supportive and in that moment something had clicked between them.

Darting up the steps with a jaunty spring, Johnny pulled out a daffodil, sucked in a deep slightly nervous breath, put on his best charming smile and pressed the doorbell.

She hadn't told Oliver about Johnny, she had a feeling he'd go into full-on dad mode and question him (or even corner him as Green Arrow). Though she had been tempted to go to Dinah for boy advice. Mia liked Johnny, really liked him. She had felt compelled to tell him about her past, while she had never been ashamed of it (not anymore) - she worried what people would think of her. It hasn't always gone well and Mia had to tell herself that anyone who judged her wasn't worth it even if it hurt.

Johnny hadn't judged her though. He didn't even seem affected by what she had told him and as much as she hated to admit it, it gave her butterflies. It was such a girl reaction and it made her feel so silly that she didn't care it was silly. Maybe it was too fast, but she had invited him to her apartment. It didn't mean anything had to happen - though she kind of hoped it would.

Hearing the doorbell she ran her hands through her hair again (which for once she was wearing down) and had to stop herself from practically running to the door. She doesn't stop the smile on her face when she opens it though.

"Is that for me?" she noted the flower. No one had ever gotten her flowers before.

When the door opened Johnny's smile more than matched Mia's in intensity, his eyes trailing over her, an almost involuntary, "wow you look amazing" slipping out before he could stop himself. Oh well it probably wouldn't hurt.

"Uh, well I thought I was going to give it to Mia Dearden, but I think I'll give it to the most wonderful girl in the world instead." He grinned and proffered the daffodil with a flirtatious little smile, adding, "I saw that and it reminded me of your hair, so I got it immediately." It was probably too soon for a kiss even on the cheek, so he hung back, waiting for her permission to enter. Johnny didn't want things to go too slowly but he didn't want to do anything to scare her away either.

"Can I come in? It's really freezing out here."
