Evie had a problem, it was not something she was accustomed to - or rather, more accurately, she was very accustomed to it, but she usually had the solution herself, as a Ravenclaw she took pride on having the solution herself, but this time she was at her wit's end.
Luckily, she had heard there was someone who could help her, and she had even managed to find out where he'd be, so she marched into the library, located the hufflepuff known as 'Bucky' and slid into a seat at the table opposite him.

[There are a lot of rumors about Shinji - that he's a werewolf, that he's killed someone, that he's planning to drop out of school and open a cafe, that he's actually the heir to some big-name magical family back in Japan, whatever else people feel like making up about the quiet prickly guy. Not many people outside of his House or (very, very small) circle of friends understand how he ended up in Hufflepuff in the first place.

One or two of those rumors may even be true. He about never does anything to confirm or deny any of them, not even the werewolf one. It's one of his friends who's in line to inherit shit in Japan, though, not him - Shinji himself has no idea what his blood status is, and doesn't figure it matters.

People in his House, especially the younger ones, would know that while he's still extremely gruff about it, Shinji is something of the Dorm Mom, especially when it comes to food. Better eat your damn vegetables on his watch.]

The fact the stairs move is an inconvenience now, instead of the wonder it was when he was a first year. Now the fact he has to leave the library ten minutes before a lesson to ensure he has time for any detours he has to make wears thin, but then again James dislikes leaving the library early for any reason.

Of course, it isn't just the stairs. There's Peeves, and the other spectres, there's doors that appear and disappear, corridors that lead back on themselves and a whole host of other pitfalls to be navigated. After so many years, James is very much used to them, but in Hogwarts it doesn't do to become complacent.

There is a staircase, a normal, non-moving staircase, that leads up to the History of Magic rooms. He, and one or two other eager students are already climbing it when the stones begin to quiver, rattling and rising a cloud of dust as it parts from the wall.

now, the hufflepuff already has a number of reservations about this so-called string of destiny at play, one of which is the fact that their professor is very obviously already tampering with fate by making this a required assignment in the first place. but, oh, was he not happy to hear that.

Credence has never quite understood why his title remains 'Matron' despite that seeming female-specific, but it doesn't really matter. Most people just call him Mister Barebone anyway, and he's fine with that.

He's twenty-three; he's been here two years. After Ilvermorny, he spent a very intense three years at the wizarding infirmary in New York before being personally invited to Hogwarts by Headmistress McGonagall. It's an honor, of course, and he was happy to accept the invitation. It would have to be easier, tending to the fevers and bruises of schoolchildren, surely?

For the most part, yes. For the almost-completely part. But then there's Gary Unwin, inexplicably referred to as Eggsy, who shows up with his various woes and smiles and laughs and even flirts, or maybe that's his imagination -

It must be. Because Credence is perverted, and awful, to find himself crushing on a student. Nothing of the like has ever happened before. Yet when he sees Eggsy smile, when he tends his wounds and hears his gratitude, it makes his heart beat faster. It's awful.

And here he is again - after a Hufflepuff v. Slytherin Quidditch match, one of the last few of the year - being brought in by his muddy teammates after an unseasonable summer storm.

[ It was cold, it was drizzling, and the NEWT-level care of magical creatures class was largely populated by a bunch of chatty Hufflepuffs--not an ideal start to an afternoon, but it got them outside, so Jim wasn't in a completely negative mindset. The professor had just explained that a herd of hippocampus had been brought to the Hogwarts lake for the breeding season, and that much of their term would be spent studying them and assisting in the care for the eggs that would be spawned in the lake's shallows.

They were meant to work in pairs, however, and it was becoming quickly obvious that most of the other students had come with throngs of friends in tow. The only person he could spot who hadn't rushed towards a partner like a best friend was the Russian kid. ]
