In some respects, this undercover plan is brilliant. Anyone would believe that Steve could have a harem, if he wanted one. Just look at him. He doesn't even have to work at it, one flash of the abs--which are prominently on display just now--and prospective harem-ees (or whatever the word should be) would come running, given the slightest inducement. He's surrounded by several attractive, doting people right now, and the fact that they're all undercover SHIELD agents is a minor detail.

In another respect this plan is a very, very bad one, and Hawke's now wishing the higher-ups in SHIELD had switched their roles. And not just because she feels ridiculous in all this silk and gauze get-up. "Relax," she murmurs, keeping her voice low and her arm relaxed where it's resting around his very tense waist. "It's just a bit of acting to get us into the facility. I promise I'm no threat to your virtue."

A bit over the top, maybe, but he's impressively (and too obviously) uncomfortable, and they're trying to imitate hedonistic pleasure-seekers, like everyone else at this bizarre party. Gaudy, brainless, no threat. Honest. All those not-actually-oiled muscles are just for show.
