After he had heard the first lines of the song, Bum sensed that Jonathan was also spending a lot of time thinking about them. Love was indeed leading people to do thing that could be labeled as "silly" or "cheesy" from others. He didn't understand everything but the song had a lovely melody.

One day I have to show him some Korean love songs. He promised himself. They had all the time in the world and perhaps he would show one of his favourite movies to Jonathan on this day too.

"That is a lovely song. What's the name of it?"

"Endless Love," Jonathan replied. An odd song that didn't match the source material, but ever since he fell in love with Bum, he found some merit to the song. He stroked Bum's arm while he listened to the music.

"I want to share/All my love with you/No one else will do."

"I hope our love will be endless. I relish everyday of it."

Bum smiled at Jonathan, when he heard him singing along. Now the words are for his ears only. It was as if the song was just for him.

He tried to ignore the reminder his thinking was sending him, that things like loving someone forever are usually nothing more than just words. There had been a time when he thought that he could never love someone else but now Bum knew that this time chances were higher, that it would really be forever.

Even when I am content, I can't stop having pessimistic thoughts. I know about the truth of the illusion that words like 'forever' but sometimes I just want to live believing that some impossible things can happen.

Jonathan wanted to be with Bum as long as he could. Batman would never tear them apart, nor would any other villain, or any forces that would conspire to see them not get a happy ending.

The song ended, and the next one began to play. 'Kiss from a Rose,' it was called.

"I'll do whatever it takes to make sure nothing gets between us."

"I know that song" Bum exclaimed when he heard the first tunes of the next song. He had some dark memories about the music video as well. Back in Korea he had seldom consumed much of foreign media, only now and then. Usually after a song or a movie got mentioned in either a movie or a book Bum liked.

"Same here. I know, that maybe I sound silly, given the fact that I'm not that expired when it comes to relationships but somehow I have the feeling that our love is special." He let out a little laugh, calling himself silly names in his head.

"Do you?" Quite the coincidence. Jonathan chose this song because it had a nice melody and he liked the lyrics.

"Now you sound like a romance novel," Jonathan quipped. It might have been an insult once upon a time, but now it was oddly endearing coming out of Bum.

Bum laughed about Jonathan's remark. A while ago he would have blushed over these words and would have probably found it embarrassing. Sometimes he had caught himself, daydreaming about someone with whom he could share some moments that could have been from a cheesy love story.

"Come on, secretly you think the same" he said with a teasing tone in his voice and gave Jonathan a meaningful smile.

"Perhaps," Jonathan admitted. "Let us be glad our's is not a love story out of the kind of stories I normally enjoy. Those tend to end quite badly." In horror stories, any romance usually ended with one or both of them dying, one of them turning out to be a monster, or both.

Then again, Jonathan had been called a monster before. And he certainly looked like a monster when he wore his costume.

Bum thought about the Phantom for a split second. He could be glad that fate had decided that they should end up together. If they were characters in a book, Bum was certain that a bad plot twist would have happened to them. Only hopeless romantic authors would have written a happy end for them.


He searched for closeness, while silently looking up into Jonathan's face. This was an afternoon he had wished for since a while. The clock wouldn't remind them that soon they would have to part. Today they would have all the time they wanted.
