Body Heat Meme

The Body Heat Meme

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[ It's strange, really, how quickly Sirius is able to instill himself into the homes of other people. Take James, for example. He had himself a perfect little flat, just right for an up-and-coming wizard with a couch that was exactly the right length to stretch out on for a good rest. Sirius had managed to mooch off a rent free existence for nearly three months before Lily gave him an unsubtle boot out the door, barely enough time for him to fetch his toothbrush and spare set of boots before the lock was turned.

And now there's Remus' place, which is not nearly as nice as James' (and his couch, Merlin, don't get Sirius started) but is perhaps even easier for Sirius to take up residence in, what with Remus having a job and no live in girlfriend to speak of. Really, the only complaint Sirius has is how bloody freezing it gets -- he's never been any good with warming spells, they all tend to dissipate as his attention wanders.

He's taken over the centre of the living room when Remus finally gets home, sheets and blankets pulled from all manner of places (including Remus' bed) piled in a cozy heap before the awful couch. ]
Your radiator is awful. It smells of burnt hair and sadness.

[The constant cold is just something he's used to along with being chilled to the bone. He comes into his little flat and throws his keys on the table. But it is freezing. He could feel it through his thin sweater. With a flick of his wand and a nonverbal, he hopes he fixed it.

Unlikely.]

Promise next paycheck I'll have it looked at, proper. [He's about to saunter to his bed, knackered, when he notices the familiar quilt and duvet.]

If you're going to steal them all, scoot over.

I'll have a job by then, lend you some dosh. [ More likely is that Sirius will have had a job by then, something part-part-part time that will have generated enough income for an evening's worth of carry out before he decides to never go in again.

It's become a bit of a pattern now that he doesn't have school to keep his attention.

He rolls over just enough that there's an opening in between a few of the covers, but Sirius grumbles unhappily about it. ]
Come on, then, before all the heat I've thoughtfully generated for you escapes.

S'fine. [He chatters through his teeth. He knows Sirius well enough to not expect anything, and he doesn't mind. He would rather not be alone in the house. He just can't find a good job to support them because of what he is. It's disheartening to say the least.

Slipping his shoes off, Remus slides into the covers and curls on his sides.]

And I'm very lucky for it.

Just don't start expecting this sort of thing, you know? I want to be respected for more than my body heat. [ Sirius frowns, hazy from the mixture of lazing around and the deep winter chill that has kept him inside all day. He kicks out, tossing an ankle over Remus' as though to weigh him down into place. ]

Long day? I made dinner. [ Namely, he tried to make dinner. Sirius thinks he ought to have told Remus that before he laid down, but there's nothing for it now. ] Potatoes and beans, a bit of leftover ham.

No. Certainly not. There's always your special talent of finding my chocolate stash and adding a sticking charm to my chair before I sit down. [Despite how exhausted and subdued he is, Remus manages a small laugh. It was good to have Sirius here. It always made him feel better.]

Not hungry, but thanks. I'll take it to work with me. [More like he'd leave it so Sirius had something to eat. He shivers again though, holding the blanket close to him.]

I haven't done the sticking charm in years, Moony, please. You can't still be sore about the third years seeing your pants. [ Sirius tries to summon the energy to be properly put out, but ends up simply sounding vaguely petulant.

At least Remus is smiling a bit, that's always a good sign. ]
If this is some sort of attempt to get me to mother you, I'm afraid I've never been any good at it. You'll have to invite Peter or Lily over, get them to play fussy mum. [ Sirius weaves his fingers through the fringe on the only decorative pillow in the flat, tugging at it as he considers Remus across the few inches of blankets between them. ] It didn't taste terrible, though. You ought to give it a try, stroke my ego a bit.

I didn't say I was mad. [Of course he had never forgotten it. But the man did have some of his dignity.

Rolling on to his side to face Sirius, the scrawnier boy curled slightly, Sirius' leg slipping off his ankle. He was still cold and only furrowed his brow at the other.]
I'm sure it's fine. I'm just tired.

[He was never hungry when he was this tired. It probably explained why he was thin. He really is rubbish at taking care of himself.]

And I don't need you being my mum. I can manage, thanks.
