People like Jonathan Crane didn't do things like romance. He was The Scarecrow, the Master of Fear, and to care about another was to give yourself something to fear. The fear that something would happen to that one you cared about. Crane had preyed upon this fear many times.

But even the Master of Fear could make an exception. Even the Scarecrow could find himself caring about another individual.

Dr. Crane had met Yoon Bum about a year ago, and the younger man had been pleasant enough company. Jonathan didn't know when he'd really come to develop feelings for him. He'd long been content with never finding companionship, but this relationship had sneaked up on him.

The two usually exchanged words through dead drops, sometimes even arranging meetings that way. Such as now. Crane's last note told Yoon that a car would be waiting to pick him up and take him to Crane's hideout in the now-abandoned Arkham Asylum, giving a time and location.

On some days Bum had a hard time accepting, that he had really managed to somehow escape his past life in Korea. This life that had always been some kind of nightmare was suddenly the even more life threading that before. And he was slightly aware that he was responsible on his own for it, he alone and his feelings he had developed for Sangwoo.

He tried to tell himself, that he had just luck that he got rescued more accidentally than planned and that his lifesaver helped him for start a new life. Even through the first months had been a rough time and he had caught himself often thinking about going back to Korea. After all there was someone he missed with all of his heart.

But the old sayings of time and its ability to heal wounds and the love you will find when you least expect changed his life for a second time. When he had thought that he would never find someone he could love like Sangwoo, life present him someone. Someone who was nothing like Sangwoo but towards him of a more friendly nature and thus easily gained Bum's trust.

The young man was still slightly confused from all the different emotions he was feeling. And the old fear, that somehow the Korean police would find out, that he was the real murder in one of the cases they attributed to Sangwoo, was also a constant companion.

While the black-haired was waiting on the venue, his eyes were steadily checking out the streets. Nervously he twisted his fingers, constantly reminding himself, that he shouldn't drop his head, his old habit he was sure, he would never get rid of.
