Mick hadn't believed them because he couldn't. There was no way that Snart could be alive. None. It had to be some kind of trick. Some abdication, another illumination in his head.

Until Gideon confirmed it. Mister Snart was indeed alive and resting comfortably in medical.

If there was anything Savitar was certain about, beyond his usual certainties about life and Earth One, it was that Damien Darkh was a psychopath and magic was ridiculous. How he came to be aboard the Waverider was a mess, but aboard it he was. And in the medical bay, consigned to 'watch Mick' as he recovered with whatever magical mind-whammy Darkh had thrown at him.

So he did, with vague complaints. He supposed, however, it was better this than the brig.

Snart was dead.
He was dead and for the last year Mick had hated her for it. Damned her, even though Snart had been the one to make the decision to knock him out to begin with. But she had carried him away from the scene. She had left Lenny behind. Gave him that stupid ring like that would somehow make it better.
It didn't. They had made the decision without him, leaving him bereft and grieving and alone.

But when the Nazis had attacked, they had come. They fought and Mick was the one carrying Sara into medical, hooking her up to the chair so Gideon could run tests and make sure she was all right.

A severe percussion.
Concussion.
Whatever.

They wouldn't know how extensive the damage was until she woke.

[ the worst part about amnesia, stefan thinks, is starting all over again. a blank slate that he never asked for. a road he never wanted to travel. he could name a hundred metaphors for the emptiness that gnaws in his stomach - but none of it would bring jesse's memories back.

he'd triple checked with cisco and caitlin. it had been some weird side effect of utilizing the speed force. or maybe time-traveling? stefan wasn't clear on the specifics, but his jesse wasn't coming back to him. not anytime soon.

he shouldn't feel like he's walking on eggshells, or that he's some hollow imitation of what he could've been. he was fine. 110% unaffected.
