Caught in the rain

It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.

Scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.


i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.


ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck.
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.

[ Astolfo hangs up his own cloak on the rack--even if he doesn't need to. He's already dry--if the rain ever even touched him--and nods to Rin as he slips his shoes off. No use not following local custom, right? ]

Yes, Master. Earl Grey Creme it is.

[ For once he doesn't seem to be needling her. ]

Should I bring it to you in the bath~?

[ Oh. ]

Don't be dense. Drinking hot tea in the warm bath is bound to make overheat and become dizzy. If I don't want to faint a cool glass of water would be much more preferable.

[Especially since she has one of those tubs you can just submerge your whole body in and take a nap. Rin leaves him with that not-quite-invitation for him to bring her water later. It won't matter that he comes in! She'll be properly cover with a thick layer of bubbles.

Once in the bathroom she begins drawing her bath. She would have made Astolfo do it, but he won't know how she likes it. Rin starts with a bit of high class bubble bath (meant for smoothing and nourishing skin) she got on clearance followed by some added fragrance. Small drops of essential oils (rose otto, gardenia), and to top it all off a small handful of Epsom salts for relaxing her muscles.]

Water then. The tea can wait~.

[ Astolfo tips a knowing little wink at Rin and heads off into the kitchen. She's probably hungry--but she'll also likely to yell at him if he brings her food in the bath. He settles for pouring a carafe of cool water and filling a glass as well. He arranges it all on a neat little tray and heads into the bathroom. Hopefully he won't catch her in a state where she'll yell at him and tell him to get out for catching her undressed. ]

Master? I've brought you something to drink.

[ He peeks around the door, ready to tug his head back at a moment's notice. She's so touchy sometimes.... ]

[By the time he pokes his head around the door he'll be able to see the smooth slope of her back as she sits on the edge of the tub with her feet in the water. Rin's long, thick hair is tied up into a bun and any loose hairs held back with a terry cloth headband. If he peeks long enough he'll bear witness to how she slowly eases herself into the steaming hot bath. Bubbles surround her soft, pale skin and obscure her figure up until the delicate curve of her shoulders.]

Come in, but next time knock, Rider.

[ Astolfo isn't the type to stare, but he can't help a little blush at the glimpse of his Master's skin. He waits until he's told he can enter and then slips into the bathroom. He's removed his armor--all that's left is the strange little black dress he seems to wear under it along with his gartered stockings. He sets the tray down at the edge of the tub and sits. ]

My hands were full. Sorry, Master.

[ He smiles. ]

Is there anything else I can do for you? It's been a long day.

[He's being so well behaved. It's different. Maybe a little concerning? Rin delicately takes the glass of water from him, and sips before setting it down on the large ledge of the tub. A great spot for putting all manner of bath accessories like containers of sugar scrubs and pumice stones.

The heat and humidity in the bathroom makes sure that the floral scent concoction she has made fills the room.]

I suppose you can wash my hair?

[She's surprised. Will he actually do that, or just tease her? Should she even trust him with her hair?]

[ Astolfo relaxes a little. The scent is pretty (and so is his Master for that matter) and the steamy room is relaxing. He wishes he could get in on the soak but he knows that the prickly Rin would nip that idea in the bud before he even opened his mouth. Instead he leans against the edge of the tub, smiling. His head tilts for a moment as she asks for him to wash her hair--Rider hadn't expected that! ]

If that's what my Master wants! I'd be honored to run my fingers through your beautiful hair. Beautiful hair for a beautiful Master, even!

[ Laying it on a little thick, maybe, but he has to tease a little! He reaches over to grab a bottle of shampoo and sets it on the edge of the tub. ]

I can even braid it after it dries if you'd like...

That will depend on how well behaved you are, Rider. For the moment I'll allow you [as if it's a PRIVILEGE] to scrub my back.

[Slowly Tohsaka shifts in the tub. She sits so her back faces him. That long expanse of porcelain skin is shown to him again now glistening wet and marked with stubborn clinging bubbles here and there.]

Heh. What am I, a cat? Nyan~!

[ Astolfo picks up a washcloth and leans over the edge of the tub. Carefully, he dips it into the water and wrings it out a little before he begins to scrub up and down the expanse of her skin. He begins to hum quietly as he works. ]

You have really very lovely skin, Master~.

[ He watches a droplet of water slide down her back. Smiles. ]

I'm not used to this sort of thing, but... I think I could get used to it.

[Slowly Tohsaka curls forward a little so he can easily access the majority of her back that's no submerged by the water and bubbles of the bath.]

Don't count on it. This War might not last that long.

[ Astolfo leans a little further forward so he can match her movement. His wash cloth rubs across her back in small circular motions and he's close enough that she might feel his breath. ]

Ah, you're right of course. I'll do what I can to help you no matter what, Rin.

[ He smiles. It's almost a little sad, really. ]

That's my duty as a paladin.

[She's... not quite sure how to respond. With her Servant being more obedient and less frustrating that usual she's out of her element. At a loss for how their banter should continue. For a while silence settles between them as the only noise is Astolfo dutifully washing Rin's back.]


...Thank you. [She finally whispers, but it echoes a little against the bathroom tile.]

[ Maybe it's forward, maybe he's just a little crazy (he did leave his reason on the moon) but he leans forward forward. He rests his hands against her shoulders, watching water drip across her skin. ]

It's the least I can do for my cute Master. I know that you want the Grail and even if I don't care about it, I'm supposed to help you.

[ He smiles. ]

That you strive so hard for something is admirable to me. You have a cause and you're dedicated to it.

[...Ah. That catches her off guard. He'll feel her body shudder underneath him as she instantly becomes thankful her back is to her Servant. Rin can feel warmth flooding her cheeks as her desperately wishes the bubbles in the bath could hide even that.]

I— I'm glad you feel that way, Rider. It's nice to know you're loyalty.

[ The blush is... pretty noticable. Astolfo rests his head against the back of Rin's with a quiet noise. His hnads move again, going back to scrubbing lazily at her back. ]

You should keep fighting for what you desire as long you're alive.

[ He's silent, then probably ruins everything. ]

Anything else you need me to wash~?

[Rin's skin comes alive when Astolfo's head rests against her. She's sensitive from not having been touched by anyone for ten years, but at least she doesn't make a noise.]

Are you offering to use the pumice stone on my feet?

[Go ahead. Gently rub any callouses forming so she keeps her nice delicate and pampered look. She normally does all this on her own, but if she can foist it on someone else? Great.]

[ Astolfo shrugs a little. He seems ready to take whatever comes to him with his Master. ]

If that's what you'd like for me to do, I'll do it!

[ Astolfo picks up the pumice and adjusts his seating to scoot closer to the edge of the tub. He pats the tiled rim with a smile. ]

Left or right first, Master?

[Tohsaka is surprised. She turns around carefully so that the bubbles still keep her fairly decent.]

Are you serious, or having a bit of fun?

[ Astolfo grins that stupid grin of his. ]

It can be both, can't it?

[erbe]

[Rin huffs, pouts, and flicks water at him.]

[unreasons]

[ Astolfo laughs at that and tilts his head towards her. He doesn't seem to mind that he's getting splashed. ]

You're cute when you pout, Master.

[ Is he flirting? Or is he just teasing? Who knows? ]

[erbe]

[Rin presses herself against the wall of the tub, and flicks his nose.]

You say I'm cute a lot.

[unreasons]

[ Astolfo goes a little cross-eyed as Rin moves up to the edge of the tub to flick at him. He half-snorts and half-laughs, then reaches out to gently nudge his finger up against her nose in return. ]

Because it's true, Master. And besides, I like cute things.

[ He crosses his arms on the edge of the rub and rests his chin there, practically nose to nose with Rin. ]

Do you not like it when I call you cute?

[erbe]

N—no... I don't mind.

[She has avert her eyes and turn her head away to put some distance between their faces.]

Keep up the good work, Rider.

[ He watches her turn away, then without warning leans in and gives her an affectionate kiss on the cheek. Astolfo sits back, looking as if he's done absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. ]

I'll give you my all, Master. Don't worry!
