A couple of days ago Eren had received the letter from one of the colleges he had applied for. It was from the one, that was close to the town where he had lived before he had moved into the neighbour city with his best friend. When Eren thought back to the day, when he had told his parents that he was in need of a change of scene they had a loud argumentation. But in the end the stubborn Eren had won.
There was more to it, than the simple wish to live in another city, it was more that he was sick of living with his parents and his younger brother under the same roof. But now, after a bit more than a year, it began to dawn on Eren that it had been a mistake to move out in such a hurry. Especially since his best friend was seldom at home since he had found a girlfriend. So Eren was mostly on his own in an apartment that was too quite. He wasn't used to that. In these moments he missed his parent's house and even the arguments and fights with his little brother. His somewhat adorable brother, which he loved dearly, despite them being sometimes like water and fire.
It was a Saturday morning, when Eren decided to drive to his parents and tell them, that he would soon be back in town. Would they let him move in again? That question was nagging on his mind, since the day he had filled out the college application. Precautionary Eren had checked if there was an affordable living he could rent. It took him a while to find one, so if his parents are going to say no, he would still have a place to live.
He parked his car down the street. For a split second he was asking himself, what he should say if his mother or his father would open the door. He secretly hoped that his brother would be the one to open the door.
Eren heard the tone of the door bell and then the waiting began. All he knew was, that they were at home, since the family car was standing in front of the house and some windows were open. His mother would never leave the house, if she was aware that windows were open.
